Hi everyone! How are you? Yesterday was my sister Kate’s 30th birthday and boy we celebrated! 🥳 It was an eventful day and a missing gift was found so winner, winner, chicken dinner (in this case, KFC, so literally 🍗🤣). Kate is my honest to god soulmate and makes life worth living so the fam wanted to spoil her rotten with magical moments and thats what we did ✨️.

One of the things I surprised her with were some strawberry smores I found on Pinterest (recipe HERE) as they fitted in with a theme and not only were they super fun to make with my mum but they were SCRUMPTIOUS to eat too 😍. Even tho I’m keeping the majority of the day to myself (it’s not my story to tell as of yet, if at all!), I couldn’t not share this delicious treat with you all! Strawberry smores that were messy but made with love 🫶🏽. Let me tell you how I made them! (The original website linked above has the recipe written in a very long format so I can say it quicker, lets gooooo).
Warning ⚠️ Strawberries were harmed during the making of this post 🙅🏽♀️🤣. To start out I got local strawberries that are extra flavourful, dipped them in melted marshmallow (took a mouthful of it and my eyes went WIDE – mum had to stop me 🤣), then waited for it to set for half an hour b4 dipping them in melted chocolate and then biscuit straight away. They then set on a baking sheet sprayed with oil (I used lemon rapeseed oil as it’s the only spray oil we have) so that they don’t stick but of course they still did 😐 which is why they are WoNkY strawberry smores but we loved them all the more for it!
We snuck a few and then saved the rest for the big day (made the evening before) and they were a hit during the party! 🥳 Everyone got to try one and then we scoffed the rest. I should have said this first but when I discovered them on Pinterest and saved them to my sister’s birthday board, I knew they would get made but I had no idea that they would in the long run fit in with the theme – everything worked out and seeing my sister enjoy them made the sticky preparation all the more worthwhile!
Would you eat a strawberry smore? 😗🍓 What was the last sweet treat you had? If we’re being totally honest here, I had a twix an hour ago 🤣. I can’t remember the last time I made a dessert before this and it was loads of fun to do! I’m more into making lunches/dinners but maybe I should take my baking apron out more often!
Anyway, I’ve gotta go, I’m super tired and we didn’t get to do everything we wanted to do yesterday for the b-day so I’ve got to find some energy and make some more memories! 💘 Any birthday is special and 30 is no exception so I just want it to be nice for my sister – onwards and upwards we go. To more yummy treats like this and days that you never want to forget 🫡. I wish that for us all!
I’ll see you again next weekend, let me know if you try the strawberry smores recipe too! Lucy (AKA Elsie) OUT 👋 Take care, stay safe and buh-bye! ✨️💕
Those look yummy! And funny you mention KFC. The closest one to my house just closed down after being there about 30 years.
