Hi everyone! And how are we doing? 💕 Today’s blog post is kinda going to be like one of our coffee chats but on a smaller scale! The first two things I’ll tell you about are recent but the last has been on the radar for ages – lets get to it as I’m in a talkative mood! 👏🤣.
First of all, I recently took my sister on a mini staycation in Wicklow as our last two trips out of the country were more my kinda thing even though it was being together that made both Japan (my birthday trip) and Paris (to see BTS) special! ✨️ (I suppose London was her trip but that was ages ago!). I wanted to treat her and surprise her so where we were going was a secret until we were literally turning in 🤫. I tried to think of things she would enjoy and both Greenan Maze, a stay at a resort and a trip to a huge garden centre (as shes mad into gardening!) were on the cards! We even topped it off with a Japanese dinner 🍽 – what more could you ask for? My sister always wants to try takoyaki (the octopus balls) wherever we go even though we’re not overly keen on them – it’s like me with nato, you don’t like something but you want to! 😂

We had the best time together even though it was a short break. It felt like another trip out of the country yet it was here in Ireland. Being a tourist can feel like such a magical experience, like seeing things through new eyes no matter the area. Greenan Maze in particular was super fun and my sister remembered the way in and out and then we did a treasure hunt to win sweets that I of course dropped in the car but am I a disgusting human being for still eating them? 😶 It was totally a five second rule type of situation, I promise!! 🙌🤣
Planning for this lil trip was so exciting, I’d get giddy thinking about it and giving hints. Here’s to more trips like this! 😍 What has been your favourite staycation location in your country and what did you get up to? 🌍
Moving on, ever so swiftly, like a thief in the night you could say, I want to tell you about a cool gift I got for my dad’s birthday! Its by the Puzzle Post and is their Padlock’d range where you have to solve puzzles to unlock a padlock attached to your present (this isn’t an ad, just something that was enjoyable!). I was worried I wouldn’t know how to attach it but the kit was helpful and even tho my dad and I used the extra clues to get the answers (AND even tho I knew the origonal code as somebody had to – I just made sure we did every stage to get to the end result 🫡😂) it made a moment thats for sure!

We got the Mexico edition as I read a review saying it was good and I’ll admit it was quite difficult but I’m glad I got it for my dad. He certainly wasn’t expecting to have to work for his presents but nothing worth having ever comes easy! 😁 If you’re wondering, the gift underneath the padlock was some Beatles and JFK books as my dads a mega fan of both! 🫢 Would you put a padlock on a present? 🤪
Now, we’ll move on to the part of the post that may have drawn you towards this blog post as I added it to the title! 🧐 It’s something I actually spoke about back when I was hosting The Cosy Corner, a section of my blog where I used to upload audios. I have slept with rocks (crystals) under my pillow for ages now, maybe a little under 2 years but don’t quote me on that…the whole thing not just the time frame 👍 – I always get embarrassed to say it 🙈🤣. These rocks “charge” on our kitchen windowsill everyday and that is part of the habit (but I recently got a new stone that is said to charge them by itself – old habits die hard tho so they still go on the windowsill just to be safe 😅). These crystals give me comfort and I feel more positive thanks to my beliefs which I read about in a manifestation book called Positively Wealthy by Emma Mumford.
In that book, was a daily challenge I undertook for 30 days and I came away with tools that have stayed with me and have kept me going stronger ever since. I’d highly recommend the book. It’s been the longest I’ve ever taken something I read and stuck with it tbh! I believe it helps me and thats all that matters. Holding the crystals before I go to sleep, reciting the good things that have happened throughout my day that I’m grateful for and thanking the universe for them has been something I would have never thought I’d do and yet here I am.
As you probably tell, I believe in manifestation and even though I thank the universe, I know that it’s what I do that gets me to where I want to be. I just also believe that going forward with a positive mindset whenever possible helps so I do what I can to maintain that. Are there any “strange” things you do or anything a book has told you about that you hold onto in life? Let me know in the comments below! 👇
It’s that time again, parting is such sweet sorrow 🥲 (you be like: I’m outta here, she chats with rocks!! 🤯🤣). We must go our separate ways but tell me one thing if none of the prompts today got you typing….did you ever truly love me? 🫨😭🤣
Okay, I’m tired ‘n’ typing this out at night, can you tell? I should probably go…but you be keeping me here 🫠. I hope something in this post made you smile and if it did? Then my job is done and I’ll truly leave you alone 😌.
Have a good week!! (Damn this point in the post always has me shocked over how fast time goes by 😵💫). I’ll see you again next Saturday but until then, take care, stay safe and buh-bye! 👋💖
