Lets track whether this orange tree lives or dies! ๐Ÿ˜

Hi everyone! How are you on this fine Saturday? Ready for a super random post? Of course you are! Last June I got my mum an orange tree (citrus sinensis), it was leafy, thriving and living it’s best life (I wish I had a pic of it from that time)…and then Winter hit and we didn’t take care of it ๐Ÿ˜…. Over the seasonal change it got cold damage and was reduced to a withered trunk ๐Ÿ’”.

Currently living in a big pot of fresh soil!

In the last month or so we have taken to caring for it: I fed it seaweed fertiliser and my sister gave it root powder. It is starting from afresh, cut back (theres green in there so it’s trying to come back!!) and I thought this moment in time would be neat to document. Hopefully one day I’ll notice it’s started sprouting again and when that day comes, I will share another post with a much better premise than this one! ๐Ÿคฃ

My sister is massively into gardening and has planted so much veg and flowers so far this year, it’s so nice to be around and I just know the orange tree will be a nice addition! I think it can be horrible when you see a plant not doing well as they’re sorta alive aren’t they so you feel like a murderer but we’re turning the tide on this one! Watch this space ๐ŸŒฑ.

Have you got any plants? How is your track record with keeping them alive? I have succulents in my room and this reminds me that they need to be watered!! ๐ŸŒต There’s something magical about nature, it’s super healing to be around โœจ๏ธ More moments like that please! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ˜‚

Farewell ๐Ÿ‘‹ I hope you have a good day ahead of you/a restful night. Until next time, take care, stay safe and buh-bye! ๐Ÿ’•

  1. Ooo I like this journey! I hope it flourishes into a wonderful orange tree! I wish I liked gardening moreโ€ฆ I just donโ€™t find it fun, at all. Maybe one day Iโ€™ll like it, but I havenโ€™t hit that stage yet! ๐Ÿ˜†

    1. I thought so too but often see smaller varieties sold here in regular shops. It took me ages to find this specific one as the other orange ones I kept seeing were grapefruit and we can’t have that. I’m hoping that because it was an Irish garden centre, no matter how hidden it was, it will one day thrive again in this environment! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐ŸŠ

      1. The hunt for a specific variety makes the reward so much sweeter when it finally grows! Iโ€™m rooting for your little treeโ€”keep us posted on how it handles the Irish seasons! ๐Ÿ€๐ŸŠ
