Hi everyone! 💗 Today’s post is very exciting for me as it’s something I wanted to do for so long! After coming across a Carpe Diem buffalo check notebook holder in tkmaxx (aka heaven on earth 🤣) on a fun, late night trip I grabbed it as I’ve seen so many journaling ecosystems live and kicking and wanted one myself!

From what I understand, a journaling ecosystem is a binder that houses your daily journals all in one place. Let me go grab googles terminology:
A journal ecosystem is a personalized system of interconnected notebooks, planners, and tools, each serving a distinct purpose (like planning, gratitude, sketching, or tracking) to organize different aspects of your life, creating a holistic record rather than using one single journal for everything.
Finding this holder felt like a real win and that same night I interwove my makeshift “hobonichi” journal (I don’t have a real one so click on those words to see why!), a self-care 30 day challenge booklet (from Temu) and the holder came with a lined notebook and a blank book, storage + a pen loop, I was good to go!
Since then I have been bringing it around with me each day, I love how handy + stylish it is and even tho I wish it was big enough to fit my Head Plan journal and my 2026 diary, it’s a great first attempt at an ecosystem (I think so anyway!).
I use the included lined notebook for things I learn in non-fiction books I read and I’m not entirely sure what I’m going to use the blank journal for as of yet but it’s to be decided! Maybe you could give me an idea for what I could draw/scribble in it!? ✨️ I’m still wanting to track habits as my Head Plan journal only let’s me note down one per month. That journal excels in all other areas tho, you can check out my review of my first 6 months using a Head Plan journal HERE.
I’m excited to bring this ecosystem of sorts with me in 2026! And I’m excited to finish the self care 30 day challenge as then I have space for a different journal! 🤣 I’m currently a bit run down with a flare-up of my chronic pain so where you’d think the self care challenge would come in handy, I can’t actually do a lot of the things in it so I definitely started it at the wrong time but hindsights a so and so and all that jazz! 😂
Do you like journaling? Have you ever considered an ecosystem or do you have one? I’m dying to know! Shout at me in the comments 🫡 I’m all ears (so it’ll probably hurt now that I think about it 😅🤣).
I’ll see you around the blogosphere! 👋 I hope you have a lovely day/night and I appreciate you reading my rambles 🗯. Take care, stay safe and buh-bye! 😉💖
I love journaling and love when you share yours! I got three new ones for 2026 😊

Ready to fill with whatever- I didn’t have a plan I just bought them so I thought that would be better. 😁

I’ve never heard of a journal ecosystem, but I like it! This sounds like such a cool way to stay organized! 😊

Have you looked into junk journaling? It’s an option for the blank notebook.
