Shop with me for a fountain pen 🖋✨️

Hi everyone! Welcome to a blog post where we’re going shopping together ☺️🛍. We’re gonna go to different shops and compare features and prices of fountain pens because I want to buy one but I’m unsure which and from where 🤔. You guys know I love to write, you get to see it firsthand but I’m also an avid writer of lists of all kinds and I scribble a to do list every day in my Head Plan journal. Recently I was looking on a stationery website at hobonichi journals (which you may have heard me chatting about over on The Cosy Corner – there are 5 new audios up today so go have a listen! 🎙) and it was there that I came across fountain pens. Items that I hadn’t really given a second thought about in the past but now I really want one! 🤗🤣

I’m just not sure which one that will be so today we are gonna peruse some online shops together and find THE one! And I am sooo ready 😆. BTW this post isn’t sponsored! Lets start with the website I originally got the idea to start looking for a fountain pen from, The Journal Shop! They offer a wide variety of fountain pens at different prices. I even saw one for €70! 🤯

As gorgeous as they are, I’m thinking more along the range of €20-€30 or under and I’m only a beginner so I’ll skip that one! Next up,

…but thinking into it, I don’t believe they look very ergonomic/comfortable for the hand which is a shame. I have a hypermobility disorder so comfort is of a huge importance as I don’t hold pens correctly as it is 🤣.

But I think it relies on you dipping it in a pot of ink instead of filling it with capsules? (I don’t know the correct terminology 🙈). I don’t think I’d enjoy doing that, it would be super messy!

Lastly for The Journal Shop is the LAMY Safari Fountain Pen:

It’s €26.95 and it looks like a good shape for a hand to have ease of use 🤔. They’re an option as a first start I suppose so we’re getting somewhere!

Let’s move on to another shop! 🛒🚶🏽‍♀️The Pen Place is our next stop and I found a real beauty!

Guys, I think I’m in love ❤️. Its ergonomic and has a window to show you how much ink is left. It also comes with a free engraving which is pretty cool! This pen is going straight to the top of my list for now 🙌. It comes in different colours too! The good points just keep on coming 😁.

A pen that is only €22 and looks very similar is:

It’s very similar to our last find but it doesnt offer an engraving and you have to call to check for availability and I’m more of an email and text message kinda girl 🤣 so nope!

From here on I googled ergonomic fountain pens and I discovered Pen Heaven (literally) and my eyes fell upon the Sailor TUZU Adjust Green Fountain Pen:

I’m no pen-afficionado but it says in the details that it contains a rotating nib allowing you to change the angle and grip position to whatever is more comfortable which sounds like a great feature! Only problem? It’s €43 😨 but mama I love him! 😭🤣 Right now its between this and the Al-Star Fountain Pen. I’ve got some thinking to do!!

Lets look at one more website just to be sure! To Cult Pens we go! 🫡 Here I am met with a pen that is a part of the award winning grip range: The Faber-Castell Fountain Pen Grip 2010 Sky Blue 🩵:

I’m smitten and I don’t even own anything yet 🤣. What should I do?? I think I get pulled into how cool a rotating nib sounds but do I even know what that means? Hell no I don’t! 😂 so the Sailor TUZU Adjust Green Fountain Pen is probably not the best fit for now, no matter how beautiful it is. I don’t think a first fountain pen should amount to that much when let’s be honest, will I even use it? (….okay I almost just ruined the point of the entire post 😅🤣 but hear me out!). I should start at a fairer price. Maybe one day I’ll get it but I think the smartest move is to go for either the Al-Star Fountain Pen or the Faber-Castell Fountain Pen Grip 2010 Sky Blue 🤔.

Will I make the decision right now? Hold on..I’ll just check one thing 🧐. So I just looked up the price of that last Faber-Castell pen and delivery would be €15 😬 so it ends up being as much as the Al-Star Fountain Pen. I think that made my decision for me tbh! 👏 I only went and made the decision in the here and now! 😁🤣

And with that, a bow is put ontop of the decision 💝. We must prepare a banquet to celebrate 🥳🤣.
