Craft time: My first ever diamond painting! πŸ’Ž

Hi everyone! How are you? πŸ’— Guys, I did a thing 🫒 Something that was completely new to me…well there’s no suspense as you ready know what it was from the title so I’ll get straight to it 🀣 the other day I did my first every diamond painting!! πŸ’Ž It was a Skinnydip Hello Kitty kit I got in tkmaxx a couple of months ago and I did not expect to enjoy it as much as I ended up doing. Let me tell you all about my new hobby but first, I’ve got some news! πŸ’Œ

This is one of two blog posts that I have uploaded today!! ✌️ The other one (which you can read HERE) is an announcement about a discount on The Cosy Corner subscription where I share audios, a video making a pink Hello Kitty chai latte and prep for a Q&A where I need your questions so be sure to go check that out! ✨️ I wanted to share two posts so that there’s something of interest for everyone and I’ve been super excited for this day to come! ☺️ Lets carry on with this post for now…here is what the Hello Kitty diamond painting kit looked like to begin with:

Isn’t she cute!

Back when I bought it, the plan was to sit outside and complete it but it was raining on the day I wanted to try it out so indoors it was to be! I made myself a herbal tea and looked up a video on youtube that would tell me how to complete the kit as it came with zero instructions. It all looked simple enough so I poured some of the beads into a tray, dabbed the pen that was included in a bit of adhesive paste, peeled back a section of the canvas and started applying!

No joke, I truly enjoyed it so much. For something so simple it took my whole attention, was a real sense of achievement and I haven’t had as much fun with a craft in ages. It was so messy and every now and then I would have to say damn it as the beads would fall out of the tray when I was swapping the colours over and they’d go everywhere πŸ˜‚. It was so relaxing! I didn’t want it to end πŸ₯Ή. Our cats (Coco, Sim and Prince) thought the plastic packaging that held the beads was treats and kept hopping up onto my lap so everything kept going everywhere but I persisted! 🀣

There weren’t enough green diamonds for the flower stem so I used extra silver instead and I think it turned out okay. I have one question tho for all of you diamond art pros out there: How do you get rid of all the stickiness on the canvas when you’re done?? πŸ€” Google said talcum powder but I was worried it would coat and ruin the design. Since I did this diamond kit I have ordered some more from Temu and grabbed a sealant that I hope works. I’m really looking forward to trying out more kits. This Hello Kitty one was something I really got lost in and I’m hoping that feeling returns for the next projects!! Here is how the Skinnydip Hello Kitty diamond art painting turned out:

It took me around an hour to complete

My sister is painting a mirror so don’t mind the background, we were clearly having a craft day! 🀣 What was the last craft you did?? 🎨 I always say I’m not as creative as I was back when I used to do bullet journaling and I’m for sure not but things like this bring that side out of me again and I love it! To more moments like this πŸ₯‚βœ¨οΈπŸ™Œ.

I’ll be off now but be sure to head on over to the second blog post of the day HERE! I’d really appreciate your questions for a Q&A if you could leave them in that posts comments section and maybe even consider joining The Cosy Corner club! Over there I have uploaded extra exclusive audios including my autumnal bucket list and a get to know me, alongside something I do every night that is a bit strange πŸ˜….

I’ll see you over on the other blog post πŸ‘‹ I hope you got on to have a brilliant day. Remember to do something for you, even if its a craft you’ve set aside for a while like I did with this kit! You never know, you might just discover a new favourite pastime! πŸ’« Stay safe, take care and buh-bye πŸ’—xx

  1. Ooo this looks pretty!
I just finished listening to your autumnal bucklist and I’m laughing at your knitting goal… I’m very much the same, as my brother puts it, I only knit square things! πŸ˜‚ I have made a few hats, but I’m not very good at it!

    1. Thanks! I feel more ready for trickier designs now! Haha I wish I was better at knitting, I can’t even keep in mind how to cast on, got a mind like a sieve! 🀣 Do you like to crochet? Last year I really wanted to try amigurumi but I couldn’t get the hang of it πŸ˜ͺ

      1. You know, I’ve never tried to crochet so I can’t say if I like it or not. I’ve been knitting for almost 10 years now and I’ve enjoyed it a lot… even if all I make are square things! πŸ˜‚ I find it so relaxing. It’s something I like to do while I watch TV because that way I actually pay attention to what I’m watching!
I had to Google amigurumi LOL! I had no idea that’s what they were called! I’ve seen beginner kits in the stores, but I’ve never thought to try it!

      2. Thats so cool and you’re a multitasker! Sounds like the perfect autumnal activity and must be so rewarding when you’re done. I’ve only ever made scarves 🀣. This time last year I really wanted to try amigurumi so those around me noticed and got me kits but I think it’s so difficult to get the hang of it so now I’m all kitted out without the skills! Gotta learn 🀣

      3. It is! I’ve been working on this one blanket now for almost a year; it’s getting closer to being finished! I know I’ll be sad once it’s done because I’ve been having so much fun!
I believe in you! I believe you can knit one of those amigurumi!! 😁
