Howdy! (I can’t remember the last time I said that to you but its fitting for today! 🤣). Today’s blog post is going to document two very fun experiences that I had recently and I can’t wait to let you know about them! These were two events that were long awaited and one of them almost didn’t happen at all! 😯 Before I get into it I just want to say a massive thank you for all of the love on my last post where I shared a day of cooking for a special event! I could tell a lot of you were hungry, next time I’ll make extra 🤣🍲.
Now, let me tell you about the trouble we had with getting Oasis tickets for my sisters birthday! (This was a present from my parents but I was in charge of getting it). We couldn’t get presale last year and then it just seemed next to impossible to get any at all as everyone was on the lookout. These tickets were like gold dust and Dublin sold out fast as Oasis announced Ireland first so people from all over the world thought it would be their only chance to see them, but then they announced more dates. One day I just took a chance, I camped out on ticketmaster and sat refreshing the page and I very nearly got tickets twice but it wasn’t working and then as soon as I added bank info to my account and ticked every box (they can send me whatever they want, to hell with it 🤣) I managed to get my hands on some!! 😆
…but, I purchased platinum tickets thinking that would let us into the exhibition and get freebies but apparently platinum is just a name and even tho I went through the exhibition route it still wasn’t to be 🙄 They were good seats tho so that makes up for it 😂. Regardless, I got the tickets and was shaking as I went downstairs to tell my mum (as they were to be from her and dad) and then we went and surprised my sister who thought something was wrong as she’d heard all of the hubbub 🤣.

Leading up to the big day (the 16th of August) we kept thinking it still wasn’t set in stone as we didn’t know if we’d be able to get parking because everywhere was booked out online but luckily we easily found parking on the day and we had a great time!! We made memories together camping out in the car at points while waiting and the vibe of that whole area around Croke Park was electric! It had been years since I’d been to the venue as I saw Taylor Swift there in 2018, Michael Bublé and The Spice Girls years ago. It felt good to be back! Everyone was so kind and having fun. The support acts: Cast and Richard Ashcroft were incredible, Bitter Sweet Symphony was magical and I kept waiting for him to do “Sing” but then I realised thats Travis! 🤣 I get them so confused. Oasis were fantastic! There was nobody using their seats when they came on stage! I’ll admit the lights were getting to me and a couple of things happened but we still had a great time. We got keyrings as souvenirs and it feels surreal that we were even there! 🤯 What’s your fav Oasis song? Mines Live Forever! ✨️

Next up on the 21st of August we went to see Calamity Jane! 🤠 This was a Christmas present from me so it’s been a long time coming and when I tell you it was good, I mean it! 🙌 I had been worried the lights would affect me again but there were hardly any and I quickly cottoned on to what the plot was which my sister had been explaining to me beforehand as she’s the fan. It was such a good show with Carrie Hope Fletcher who I’d heard of before as being Tom Fletcher from Mcfly’s sister but I’d never seen her acting. She was brilliant and alongside the rest of the cast she really brought the story to life! 👏

After the show we had to go to our favourite haunt, Nutbutter, which I wrote about when I went to see Tina the musical and I knew not to get their pho this time. I had their Panang Bowl and at the time I liked it, not crazily but it filled a gap! Now tho, I can’t think about it as I’m typing this afterwards and I feel nauseous 😓. I seem to get pain after every concert as I have chronic migraines anyway but its so annoying as that tries to take over but regardless my sis and I had a wonderful time together and it feels so weird that things we looked forward to are now over and done with! 🥹
Both of these shows were polar opposites and yet they were enjoyed so damn much 💫. Next up I’m off to a festival and then it’s my sisters birthday in 2 weeks which I’m super excited for as you know me, I’ve planned out the day! 🤣 It’s always good to have something to look forward to, big or small I think it’s one of the things that keeps me going! ✨️ Anyway, I’ve gotta go now but it was so much fun typing this post out and getting to relive memories ☺️.
Let me know in the comments below what your next concert is going to be!! 😮 Telling me is basically your homework 😁🤣. I’ll see you again next week and be floating around the blogosphere like a ghost 👻 but until then, stay safe, take care and buh-bye! 👋💗
Ah amazing I haven’t seen a Musical in ages!! I can imagine Calamity Jane was fab! I’ve not seen Carrie live, but follow her on insta and it looked like a great show!!! Also that Panang looks delish! xo

My sisters friend went to go see it too another night and someone stood in for Carrie as she opted to go to the hospital with a cast member who fainted and my sis’s friend had really wanted to see her but nope! It was an incredible show 🙌💗

Ahw what a shame! But yeah I guess that’s sadly the reality if famous people are the main roles; we might get to see them as they won’t always managed to be on stage
We’ve got Fiddler On The Roof coming to our local theater in Autumn and I’m really hoping to go see that one as it’ll alway hold a special place in my heart having been the first show i did with an am-dram group back in the day 🙂 Do you know that one? xo

Sorry I’m only just seeing this comment, it ended up in spam. Ahh I’ve heard the name Fiddler On The Roof before but have absolutely no idea what it’s about, thats so cool you were a part of a drama group!! What amazing memories you must have ☺️✨️💗

Ahw no worries lovely 🙂 you should definitely check out fiddler on the roof – its a totally underrated classic in my eyes! And yeah, it was such fun, sadly my anxiety is just to much now that I couldn’t cope with the performing on stage element anymore, but at least I can still enjoy going to watch musicals 🙂 xx

Anxiety is a b*! It sounds like theatre/drama was right for you at that time in your life and now something else is meant for you ✨️. Musicals are magical to watch and to envision the performers practicing! Xx

That’s amazing you got Oasis tickets! I heard they were super hard to get! They performed here last night. I’m happy to hear you had an amazing time! I just went to see My Chemical Romance last Friday – that was such a fun experience. This was my fourth time, but it never gets old!

They did! They played their whole Black Parade album in full and I loved every minute of it! 😊 I wish I could go back! I’d watch them perform again and again!

Sounds like a fun couple of days. Unfortunately concert tickets are out of my budget so I don’t have any lined up. I’ve only been to one concert before when I was in high school and I was able to go because price of admission was just to bring an unopened toy. I saw Little Big Town with a friend of mine and we were right in front.

Thanks! Thats understandable. Ooh I think I’ve heard of them before, must have been an incredible time and memory being up front! 😯
