What I really think when you call me Elsie 😅

Hi everyone! Today’s post is a bit different but its something that has been an idea in my drafts folder since 2021. It’s kinda silly but maybe it’ll be informative for some people if they question certain things so here I am! 😅 Ps, today is my dad’s birthday!! 🥰 I’m going to do a lot of cooking and I’m really looking forward to just letting loose in the kitchen 🔪🤣. Anyway, more about that next time! Let me just preface this post by saying that I have no problem with being called Elsie by people when my name is actually Lucy because I think its the name of my blog so people are gonna think it is in fact my name too and its kinda cool to be reminded of this thing I created so this isn’t a hate post or anything. Just your regular shmegular kinda chat about something I get almost every day that I thought would be fun to write about!

So, let’s just get down to the nitty gritty of it or perhaps its not so “nitty gritty” as I’ve said it before and I’m gonna say it again but my blog name is Elsie LMC. This is because Elsie is the name version of my initials: L.C. and LMC is my initials with my middle name thrown in for good measure (I have two middle names but one is boring so I left it out 🤣). My real name is Lucy but it doesnt really feel like my name for some reason. Maybe because at home I get called L or Luce a lot idk. But yeah, thats my name, don’t wear it out 👊 it probably won’t get “worn” out because it hardly gets used 🤣.

Anywho! I don’t mind it when you guys call me Elsie, thats the long and short of it, its easy to think its my name and I’ve called you guys: elf-ryone for blogmas before and if you lot can live with that then I’m pretty sure I can handle having a cutesie name 😁. And yeah, I think Elsie is cutesie in the best way possible! Its so old-worldy and pretty if I do say so myself. I don’t even think I can call it a nickname as I think I only get called it by accident (or maybe you know my names Lucy and you just like calling me Elsie, thats cool too, let me know!). Either way, you know Imma claim it 🤣.

This blog post probably didn’t need to exist as I explain my blog name on my about page but why not write about these things?? We’re all grown up (okay Lucy, it’s not a taboo subject 🤣). And yeah, I do refer to myself as Lucy in a lot of posts so there’s another reason why this post is kinda void but I wanted to finally put this post idea out into the world even tho a lot of you guys call me Lucy anyway 🫣 (I’m just digging a hole for this post aren’t I? 😂).

I’m interested in hearing your thoughts in the comments! Do you get called something different on your blog? Got any cool nicknames? Are we even bloggers if we don’t write about random 💩? 🤣 I’m all ears!

  3. Usually when I want to mention someone I will look at their about page to see if they tell us their name but I admit seeing your blog name was an actual name I just assumed your name was Elsie for the longest time until I looked at your about page and realized I was wrong.

  4. This was such a fun read. Honestly, “Elsie” really does suit you even if it’s not your real name. It’s got that warm, old-timey charm you described, and I think it’s sweet that you don’t mind people using either name. The whole initials story was actually super cool, I never would’ve guessed that’s how you came up with it. Now I kind of want to hear how other bloggers picked their names too. Hope your dad’s birthday celebration was full of good food and happy vibes! 😄

  5. Names and nicknames are so much fun to me. I do have a few nicknames, but I won’t share those of course. People just call me Fedora here, and I’m pretty grateful that I managed to come up with that myself when I started this blog. Like so many have pointed out, it really shows a creative side that I absolutely love. I just wish it would come out to play some more 😂.
