Hi everyone! I’m thrilled to be sharing today’s post with you 😄 and I have also shared about it over on Instagram here as a photo dump + read on to find out something else I’m sharing with you guys thats very exciting 👀. I mentioned in my last coffee chat that I was going to London, my sister had an event to go to and the plan was to spend time with my aunt who drove once we were on the other side (we live in Ireland). I caught a virus from my sister days before but we were both determined to go as it was an expenses paid trip with The Pink Stuff so we prepped and turned up at Dublin airport on the 16th of May, early in the morning! Read on in the post for some very exciting news!! 👀

I’ve only ever been on boats before, never a plane so my first experience was an interesting one but not as bad as I thought it would be. I still can’t believe we found our way and I liked that I could fill up my water flask! The plane started moving so fast and there was a lot of ear popping and sharp shooting pains through my head, as well as losing hearing but we made it and greeting my aunt on the other side was the absolute best! It was our first time over in England since 2019 I think but she’d come over a few years ago.

We stayed at The Hilton in Islington and the first room they gave my sister and I didn’t have a lockable door so anybody could get in which led to them giving us a totally different room which was a little bit bigger so result, I say! 🤣 I had a migraine but my aunt and I had planned to do a bit of shopping whilst my sister was at the event before heading to dinner so I laid down while my sister got ready and was good to go later on!

My sister looked absolutely stunning in her dress and I’m not gonna lie, I was anxious for her, hoping all would go well but we said our goodbyes and she went to see her friends who had said hello when we arrived at the hotel. My aunt and I made our way to Angel Central where I planned to check Muji and Uniqlo out and I came away from Muji with a load of pens and gifts for my mum (I got gifts for my dad the next morning!).

We then went walking down the main street looking for somewhere to go for dinner and I found Panda’s Kitchen which was the best decision if I do say so myself as the meals we ordered were absolutely incredible 😍. My aunt chose sweet and sour chicken and I got a beef cumin dish that tasted like coriander which I love and it went down a treat. We were chatting away and our food went cold but it was still very yummy and nothing went to waste 😋. It was so nice spending quality time with my aunt! 🥰

After that we went back to the hotel and watched The Chase and a documentary about Puff Daddy (ngl he’s a nasty piece of work) and the room was so cosy to relax in. Then my sister came back and guess what?? She’d won an award!! She was 1 out of 10 people in an event with over 80 people and she won the award for creativity and I’m super proud of her 👏 she deserves it!!

You can find my sisters reel of the event here!
The next morning we put our bags in the car and then my sister and I went for a walk around town, initially for her to go to Gail’s to try their matcha as she’d heard it was good and to a stationery shop to see their Jellycats as she’s obsessed with them. We had such a lovely morning together and I treated myself to the Bubbleology Miffy carrot cake bubble tea and my God, it was a work of art. I savoured it and was surprised I didn’t feel sick on the plane back home later on as we forgot to take travel sickness tablets for that particular journey but that’s another story! 🤣

We purchased various things including a crochet totoro purse and I got my sis a croissant keyring for her car keys from a market and she got me a blind date with a book! You guys know I love a good mysterious book and I’ve done something exciting, there’s a video of me picking out the book and opening it over on Instagram here so if you want to see what the book is or hear what I sound like as this blogging malarkey has hid my voice for 9 years then head on over and check that out! 💗 I’ve also uploaded it to Tiktok and YouTube. Yes that’s right, I have a YouTube channel and this is my first video so I’d really appreciate if you could check it out! ✨️

On the way back to the airport we chatted on the phone to my other aunt and cousins, we’re planning on going back over to England later on in the year so that we get to spend time with them and I’m very excited for that! ☺️ Back at Luton airport our flight was delayed and we’d arrived early so we had a look around the shops before getting lunch (I tried aloo paratha and it was SPICY. Thank goodness for the water station 🙌🤣) and then we sat and waited to find out on the screen what gate we would be departing from.
The ear popping was a whole lot less with the help of some loop headphones I’d bought with me and also chewing gum. My sister still hasn’t got her hearing back in one ear but she’s been given medication and should take a few weeks to go back to normal. Look at what my chewing gum said:

Seeing Ireland come into view felt so good. It’s home, it has been for the past 21 years and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I had brought a travel journal with me to fill in but I didn’t feel like writing on the plane and when we were in England time just passed. I might still fill the first chapter pages in and fingers crossed more travels fill the rest ✨️.
Back home we got back on the bus that would take us to the carpark but the problem? We couldn’t remember where we’d parked and the lot had gotten really busy since we’d parked there the morning before 😨. (Next time we’ll be sure to note what zone we are in!). We were prepped to ring the carpark attendant as it said they could help (there were cameras) but luckily, sis spotted the car and we greeted it like it was one of our dogs, all lovey dovey (her cars called Betsy 🤣).
The drive back home was something I will never forget, full of laughter and chatting about our trip and it was so nice 🥹. For dinner I got treated to McDonald’s and I didn’t look up until it was gone 🤣🤣.

Now I’m not gonna lie, there was a lot of drama throughout this trip but it’s not my place to say what exactly. Nothing is perfect but the moments that shone through where memories were being made were truly magical and thats waht stands out for me 💫.
Where was the last place you traveled to? Ever been to London? I was born there and despite growing up in Ireland I’ve managed to keep my accent but a bit of Irish peeks through at times! 🤣
I hope you ended up enjoying this post as much as I did sharing it 😊. I’ve really been enjoying blogging lately, not that I didn’t before but I’m just really feeling it lately and I love that. I’ve gotta go now but I hope to share more posts like this in the future! Be sure to go check out my blind date with a book video, it would mean a lot and the book was a real surprise 😏. I hope you have a wonderful day/night, stay safe, take care and buh-bye! ✨️💗
Sounds like a fun trip. I will definitely check out your YouTube channel.

This is lovely!
Also, what’s a trip without problems? The key is to just bask in the great moments and not let those little setbacks ruin your trip.
I also went on a trip recently. The post will be out tomorrow!
