Do lazy days make me feel unproductive? πŸ€”

Do lazy days make you feel rested or unproductive?

Hmm this was a tricky one to answer!! Hi everyone, how are you? Today I thought I’d answer a question because these prompts are so fun to do. Every now and then I remind myself to take a look at what the WordPress daily prompt is and I store any good ones in my drafts folder which is why this one was asked a while ago and I’m only getting round to it now 🀣.

My answer to this question is very much half and half and I’m sorry I can’t give a more solid answer but sometimes I’ve gotta be difficult like that πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜‚. I tend to put myself down for not being the slightest bit productive to be honest. I prefer days filled with moments of productivity so naturally, lazy days do tend to make me feel unproductive but if I’m not feeling well or something, I gradually accept that a lazy day is what is needed. I’m not saying that lazy days are only good for when you’re not feeling well, I have my moments when I enjoy sitting back and doing nothing other than watching the TV (I would say reading but I consider that to be productive!) and I can at those times appreciate feeling relaxed.

I like relaxing and if that’s seen as lazy then so be it! I think I’m kinda contradicting myself but I can’t seem to answer this question clearly πŸ™ŒπŸ€£. I think I’m kinda weird in a way that I can label doing things that some people might consider lazy as productive. Like if I watch YouTube I think it can be productive as I’m catching up on my favourite YouTubers and I love to be on top of that so that I don’t have a long watch list waiting for me.

Am I steering away from the question at hand here? πŸ™ˆ I’m going to stick with it being half and half. I do look at my lazy days and try to pinpoint what was productive about them. I think I can always find something if I look hard enough 🀣 and that’s just something I find myself doing. Maybe being rested can be seen as productivity when you need it? I like that way of thinking! πŸ’«

Just out of interest I asked my sister what she thought and she said that she doesn’t sleep well when she’s had a lazy day because she’s not tired out. So maybe a bit of productivity is needed even on those “lazy” days? It’s all food for thought really!

Anyway! Thank you for checking out this post 🫢. I’d love to hear your answer to the prompt in the comments! It’s an interesting question for sure and that shows in the fact that it had me so tongue tied! πŸ˜‚

I’ll be off now, I will see you again next Friday but until then I hope you have a really good week! Buh-bye βœ¨οΈπŸ’—.

  1. I loveee lazy days.
There are days when I’m at the top of my game, super productive, ticking all the boxes so when I get days when I can slack off and do nothing, I really love it. I don’t beat myself up about it because I know not every day is a lazy day.
Honestly, I see it as a blessing sometimes cause not everyone has the opportunity to just rest.

  2. I get what your sister is saying, if I have a lazy day, falling asleep can be hard because I didn’t really do anything to tire me out. But I agree with you, too, I like to look at my day and see what was productive out of it, even if it was something small! 😊

  3. Half and half is actually a really good answer. I think at the end of the day, it’s all about making sure you have a balance. A little bit of being unproductive is okay but too much isn’t good for you and vice versa. I really liked your answer to the prompt. Have a good weekend too! πŸ’•
