A Halloween Day in my Life! πŸŽƒ

BOO!!!…..Did I scare you? Oh well, at least I got your attention πŸ€·πŸ½β€β™€οΈπŸ€£. Happy Halloween!! πŸ¦‡ Or at least it was yesterday anyway, I think it still counts, this is like the boxing day to Halloween πŸ˜‚. So I was wondering what would be a good post idea and I thought it would be fun to document how my Halloween day went! It wasn’t very spooky but you can’t win em all πŸ™„πŸ€£. Let me jump right into what happened!

So! I spent the majority day out with my sister shopping in Carrickmines and Arklow. Golden brown leaves were coating the roads and falling down from the trees in the breeze πŸ‚. We started out in Ikea and I got a canvas lampshade ball thing because at the moment I have a black lampshade so I wanted one that would show more light in my room. It was only €4! I’m getting it put up in my room today (the day that this post is uploaded) and I’m hoping it doesn’t bump into my head as the ceiling isn’t that high πŸ˜‚.

I can’t wait to see what it looks like up!

We looked around tkmaxx and I got a few Christmas gifts. Then I got an acai bowl in The Vanilla Pod, I had planned to go there for the first time and was really looking forward to it but sadly it didn’t taste nice at all 🫀. It was kinda like how I’d imagine playdough to be. Can I say it was gruesome as that sounds like the perfect Halloween word? 🀣

I had such high hopes for this acai bowl

We then both got decaff pumpkin spiced lattes in Statbucks after looking around another tkmaxx, I wanted to try their salted maple and caramel latte but they’d sold out. I enjoyed my pumpkin spice latte anyway, it felt very autumnal and it was super sweet!! Annoyingly, it gave me a bad migraine but luckily painkillers hit the spot and drinking loads of water too.

We got home at around 5:30-6pm, had dinner and then carved pumpkins whilst watching the Sing Halloween short on Netflix and some horror gamers on YouTube. The sitting room smelt so strongly of pumpkin πŸ€£πŸŽƒ and I lost two Hello Kitty false nails that only got put on the day before 🫠 + I ended up glueing them back on the wrong fingers too πŸ™„.

I got to the kitchen last so I got the big red knife instead of the more precise smaller one…that’s my story and I’m sticking to it 🀣.
It looks like I cut out wedges of cheese πŸ§€πŸ˜‚

I decided to keep my pumpkin super simple and it was fun to do! I kinda messed up the carpet even tho I put a towel down so I’ve got to clean it today 😀. Anyway, my sisters pumpkin was way better than mine as I’m sure you’ll agree!

Both of the first and second pumpkins were my sisters!

We then watched our usuals, Married at First Sight and Big Brother UK! It’s spooky week on Big Brother so it was perfect! Our kittens jumped in through the sitting room window like they normally do in the evenings and I snuggled up with them. We could hear popping sounds like fireworks going off and it really upset them and the dogs but luckily it didn’t go on for too long.

Here you can see two mounds of black, the kittens, laying beside me! I seriously couldn’t get a better picture πŸ™ŒπŸ€£

I then got in bed to type out this post and read my book (Forging Silver Into Stars by Brigid Kemmerer – it’s sooo good!! I’m really into it).

And that was my day!! πŸŽƒ (Let me just pop a pumpkin there and pretend it was an overly autumnal day 🀣). How did you spend Halloween? I’d love to know what you got up to! πŸ¦‡ I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I enjoyed putting it together! πŸ˜‰

I’ll be off now but I’ll see you again next Friday! (The day before my birthday πŸŽ‚πŸ˜†). Take care! Buh-bye πŸ’—

  1. Happy Halloween! πŸŽƒ It sounds like you had a great day! Love all the pumpkin carving! I wanted to carve a pumpkin and we went back and forth on it. I’m surprised my mum didn’t buy a pumpkin this year. She usually buys one whether we carve them or not. There’s always next year!

      1. That’s awesome! I tried to plant one when I was a kid, but it didn’t go so well. I should try again. I’d love to see how it turns out for your sister!
My Halloween was fun, I went to a concert (the date just happened to be Halloween, it wasn’t specifically for the holiday πŸ˜‚) but it was a lot of fun and a lot of people dressed up and I loved that. I wish I had dressed up more. I was going to wear a witch hat… I should have!

      2. That’s so cool that people dressed up for Halloween even tho the concert wasn’t to do with that! If you have any concerts before Christmas I dare you to wear a santa hat or reindeer ears! πŸŽ„

  2. We don’t really celebrate Halloween here in India, but we had another festival – Diwali – so yeah, I had fun, haha.
The pumpkins look great, and so do your nailsπŸ’—. Love the style!
Great post, Lucy! Happy Halloween (also, have a wonderful and lovely birthday)!
