Books I got from the library! 📚 #4

Hiya folks! Welcome back or to this blog in the first place if you’re new here 🥰. You’ve arrived at the right time! Yesterday evening I took a trip to the library to pick up some books I’d reserved and to get some good old random ones too and I can’t wait to share them with you!!

Firstly I should let you know that I had a ban placed on my library card 🙈 because I used up all of the renewals available (basically I’d had some books out for too long) so naturally, I brought them back and got them out again! 🤣 Ain’t nobody gonna rush my reading process!

After I’d done that, I was able to take out the books I’d reserved and obtain some new finds too. Let me show you what I got!

The books I reserved were Four Eids and a Funeral by Faridah Àbíké-íyímídé and Adiba Jaigirdar and Spy x Family volume 2 (I bought volume 1 back on my dad’s bookish birthday trip and really enjoyed it!) and Adiba Jaigirdar is one of my favourite authors so Four Eids and a Funeral which she co-wrote is hopefully gonna be a new fav too! 🤞

Next up, the first book I picked up was Am I Really Pretty Rude for a Girl by Rebecca Elliott which sounded so funny and I caught a glimpse of it from flicking through, I’m ready for a good laugh! Then I grabbed The Davenports by Krystal Marquis, the cover drew me in and I love the sound of it. Judging from the summary it’s a fiction novel about one of the few wealthy black families in Chicago in the 1910s and it delves into each of their stories. I’m very excited about this one and truly can’t wait to read it! A book that it reminds me of is the era within The Luxe series. Ahhh I’m just really looking forward to seeing what it’s like 😆.

Moving on, the last book I grabbed was Anna K. by Jenny Lee. This is set in New York and centres around a scandal and a love story I guess. It made me think of Crazy Rich Asians as the cover says “Young, Rich, Crazy in love” so we’ll see if it meets my expectations!

Imma get reading!! I’ve always been a bookworm but recently I’ve just been really feeling it if you know what I mean? I just feel an overwhelming happiness when I happen upon a good read and don’t want to be without books surrounding me ✨️. What about you? Are you a fellow booklover? After having a very long rut a year or so ago 🤔 I’m loving being in my reader era again and I very much hope I’m not jinxing it by putting that out there! 😬🤣
