Hello there! 👋 Welcome to my blog where I’ve got a double whammy post for you today!! No it’s not two posts, it’s TWO lots of TWO blind dates with books!! (So four books in total!) Whoop whoop, we’re pretty wild around here 🤣. My sister treated me to these secret books in Easons and I was very excited to open them!! Let’s begin with the first one:

On the front of the tag it was described as an eery covid thriller for fans of Lee Child (on the back it has an excerpt too). I’ve never read a Lee Child book so perhaps that should have been my first sign that something was wrong 🤣 but anyway I unwrapped it and found………….

At first I was intrigued and I thought “I could actually read this!” and then I checked and found its like number 20 or 21 in a series 🙄. I mean it must work as a standalone for them to just randomly sell it like this but I didn’t think I would be able to get into it so I decided to bring it back as the lady in Easons said I could do so when we got the books.

I moved onto the next book which was described as a murder mystery with plot twists for fans of Ruth Ware…..again I’ve not read a Ruth Ware book before 🙈🤣 but I was intrigued by the sound of a murder mystery with plot twists so I went for it. Let’s see what I got…………

……A book that my family already have and have all read before (this was not my lucky day 🤣). Like I mentioned above we were told by the lady in the shop that I could bring them back for whatever reason as it was bought on a gift receipt so that is what I did AND I decided to take a risk and purchase two more secret books but this time they were from the Young Adult section. YA books are my jam so I was very excited with my finds. Let me show you them in their wrapping as the designs are so cool and then I’ll share what they’re explained as…..(what’s with all these dot dot dots?? 🤣)……😏

Okay so one of them was described as a fast paced young adult dystopian novel woth assassins, amazing fight scenes and plot for fans of Leigh Bardugo (an author I have for once read something by!! 👏🤣) and the other one was described as a young adult fiction novel with a bloody plot and twists and turns with life being put on the line, for fans of Sara J. Maas who I adore!!! Again, on the back of the tags their were excerpts but I recognised neither of them.
Are you ready to see if my ship sunk and I abandoned it? Cause I am 🤣. LETS UNWRAP THESE BEASTS!!! 😤……

Okay so imma admit, I have Powerless already but I haven’t read it yet which explains why I didn’t recall the excerpt 🙈🤣. But!! And it’s a big BUT, I wanted Silver in the Bone!!!!!!! So we got there in the end 🤣🤣. I actually took a picture of it in the shop to look it up later on so I’m beyond pleased that it happened to be one of my secret books!!
I bought back Powerless and at this point Easons were probably sick of the sight of me 🤣 but a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do and my final stop in this seemingly endless saga was getting the book Long Live Evil by Sarah Rees Brennan and that was the end of my gift receipt!! 🤣

I can’t wait to read it, it sounds so cool. Stay tuned for reviews over on my Instagram account!! 📸
Right, what did you think of this bookish journey I went on. Oh I’m sorry, that WE went on because it feels like it truly happened here on the blog with you guys. I hope it gave you a laugh! 😂.
