Hey, hi and hello! π Welcome to my blog, today I’ve got a quick chatty post in store for you. One about a reading habit that I broke through, let me start from the beginning. So over on my Bookstagram account I’ve made it no secret that in the past I’ve read a load of books at the same time. But this isn’t something I take pride in because I’d often forget what was happening in more than one of them and it would take me forever to finish reading any of them as I struggled to juggle more than one. I kept going this way and soon fell into a slump whereupon I found it difficult to pick up any book at all. It was a sad, sad time π₯Ίπ€£.
Well recently I started reading one book in a go (even if I’ve previously started others I am just setting them aside and picking one to go with until I work my way around to all of them). Something just clicked and it just became a thing where I didn’t carry down a pile of books with me everyday. I dedicated myself to one book alone and the secret? Well there’s no secret to it, I just zeroed in on one book and took it everywhere with me. This is the reason why I’ve finally started finishing books again and I know it sounds simple but to someone that was stuck on this big habit of committing myself to so many books at once, it’s a big deal and I’m super happy to have found my way forward with reading again as I was upset with the slump and didn’t want to fall into a longlasting one again π.
There are A LOT of books on my physical TBR that are readily available to me right now thanks to sharing my family’s library cards (I know, I’ve got it bad π€£) so I’m working my way through them as well as books I bought myself. I’m due a trip to the library soon when I finish a few more books as my mum needs something to read so I’m looking forward to that!!
On another subject, it may look like I’ve abandoned my Bookstagram page…..cause I kinda did but I’ve just been busy (I’ll chat more about that in a coffee post soon! β) but I plan on coming back as the reading is still going on as you can now see! So yeah! I’m now a one book kinda girl and it feels great! π I’m enjoying what I’m reading and I’m looking forward to sharing that same joy with you guys over on my Bookstagram again! Whoop whoop! π₯³
I’d love to know your reading habits and whether or not you read one book at a time like I do now or if you have a few on the go at once? Let me know in the comments below π. I used to ask people “what are your ways” when they told me they read one book at a time and they’d explain to me in layman’s terms that they just did it and now I get it, finally! π π€£
Anyway! Thanks for the chat π I’ll be back again next week but floating around the blogosphere until then reading whatever posts take my fancy π«Ά. Until then, take care and I’m sending good vibes your way! Buh-bye β¨οΈπxx
Itβs great that you read books. When I do read them, I must only read one at a time. Same with tv shows basically. If I watch too many at the same time I mix them up π.

Thank you! Yeah I get so confused with TV shows too! I didn’t realise it was with that as well π€£

Yay! Iβve definitely shifted to becoming a one book girlie over the years too, and it feels great to be able to just focus on one story at a time. My attention span has gotten so bad that this is the only way I can go about reading now. π Excited to see you more over on Bookstagram as well!

I used to only be able to read one book at a time because I couldnβt keep them straight in my head but now I have multiple books going at once and I love it.

I loved being able to read more than one book until I couldn’t anymore, so many worlds to get lost in! β¨οΈ

Reading one book at a time is probably the smart way to go about it. I read 3 at a time because I like giving myself projectsβ¦ I need help π So, aside from my every day book that Iβm reading, I like to read Stephen King books on Sundays and I read a chapter of a classic book almost every day.
Some days I want to read more and I have to tell myself not to! π

Haha projects is a fun way of describing it! I like the idea of reading a chapter of a classic book, your way of reading sounds very organised β¨οΈ

It makes for reading classics less daunting, I find! π
And haha, organized reading, I love the sound of that! Iβm going to have to describe my reading as that from now on! π
