Top 3 benefits of reading before you sleep! πŸ˜΄

Today we’re going to be chatting about something exciting….books! πŸ“š I mean c’mon what’s not to love about them? I’m obsessed πŸ˜‚ and if you don’t believe me, check out my Bookstagram account! I love nothing more than cozying up with a good read and becoming totally lost in it ✨️ there’s nothing quite like it if you ask me…and if you didn’t, well I’ll keep on telling you anyway! (It’s the attitude you’ve gotta have in these situations πŸ˜…πŸ€£).

So! What’s on the agenda today? Well I thought I’d share with you some of the benefits of reading before you sleep! 😴 It’s my favourite time to do it! If you’re like me then it’s the time of day when you’re alone and can fully and finally have that time to yourself to read a good book! πŸ“– There are so many reasons why it’s one of the best times for it. Read on to discover those benefits!….

It helps you wind down, relax and eventually fall asleep!

That’s right! It’s way better than screen time which I’m a sucker for late at night πŸ™ˆ. Reading gives your eyes a rest from screens such as your phone or the TV, unless it’s an audiobook you’re pining over which is perfectly fine just so long as you don’t fall down an endless tunnel of staying on your phone afterwards 😬🀣.

It’s a good distraction

Especially if you’ve had a tough day. What better way than to escape into another world??….there isn’t a better way, that’s the answer 🀣 well you could journal or do some colouring I suppose but I stand by reading! πŸ™Œ When you read you give it all of your attention, I wonder if it counts as mindfulness πŸ€” because you’re so in the present moment ✨️.

It gives you something to think about whilst you’re trying to fall asleep afterwards

When you put that book down I’ll bet it’s still on your mind, especially if it was a good one! You might even find that segments of the book seep into your dreams! πŸ’­ Have you ever had a dream about a book you’ve read/are reading? I’m dying to know!
