Hello elf-ryone! πβ€οΈ
Welcome to a seemingly run of the mill post that loads of people will share around this time of year! π (Off to a great start on standing out from the crowd here π ). If you know me then you’ll know I’m kind of dreading this but at the same time that can’t be entirely true because this wouldn’t be happening if a part of me wasn’t ever hopeful that I could achieve something on the list! So with that in mind and a festive mood already rolling (it’s the fuel behind all I’m doing lately π€£), let the long sentences roll because I can feel them coming on!
Okay so let’s start by being upfront and honest. I’m not entirely sure what I want to get done in Winter! I mean there are basics and things on my to-do list but they aren’t quite bucket list material. Are these even surefire options if I had to pointedly ask myself for them? I don’t know, but I guess we’ll find out. Imma wing it and psych myself up along the way like I know I can! β¨ Please, PLEASE, can this lot go better than my Autumn Goals did ππ. Universe, don’t listen to anything I say that may in turn jeopardize the following bucket list, I’d thoroughly appreciate it. Let’s get this sleigh on the road…..(I just remembered it’s Christmastime so I’ve gotta try add in something festive π). If all else fails I figured (with the title at least) put a bow on it, that’ll make everything better βΊοΈπ€£.
Wrap up gifts early! π
I’m always unsure whether or not festive things are worth putting on a bucket list because that’s only a portion of Winter and then we get sick of the season until Spring (or at least I do anyway ππ) but something I REALLY want to do is get some presents put under the tree! I mean I know it’s not all about gifts but I just can’t explain how excited I am to see the reactions of my family and I think I’ve come up with things they wouldn’t get for themselves but would love so yeah! I’m waiting for one thing in particular to arrive in the post before I start wrapping up as then everyone will have something under the tree π. *Update* I probably shouldn’t be saying this until the post is revisited but since I typed this out I’ve wrapped the majority of the gifts so that’s something already achieved!….I mean it was something that had to be done sooner or later but I’m pretty chuffed about it anyway π€£.
Do some crafts…or MAKE some crafts….”do” was not meant to go there π€¦
Ooooooooh I’m cheating because I’ve already painted rocks π. My last post is proof (and I’m still not sure if that was a DIY π€). I’m doing to use a word and I don’t know what it means yet but I’ll say it and then I’ll Google it to see if I’ve gotten this right. Inundated. I’m inundated with ideas for crafts…….*feverishly googles*……….I do believe I’ve got it π©π₯². I’m going to count things like knitting as a craft (not just painting and such) because I know for a fact that I’ll be picking up a pair of needles soon (I’ve made a promise to someone that I’ll make something and I’m a woman of my word…..don’t take my word for it tho, these bucket lists are formed of the things and they generally don’t go very well π€£).
Festive events/Fun moments! π
This is already well underway on the festive side of things but as well as that, after Christmas I’d love to keep it going and always have something to look forward to because I think thats important in life! Things that don’t even have to cost anything but they’re amazing nonetheless! πͺ
Do something for New Years Eve/day!
News years has always involved watching Jool’s Holland but this year I’m getting dressed up for it….I may regret that because I go to bed as soon as that’s finished with the countdown so I may just dress up nice for new years eve π€£. We eat dinner together on Christmas day + new years eve so I’m looking forward to both of those moments π. Not entirely sure what I’ve got in mind for new years day but I’d like to mark it somehow! π«
Bake + cook! (Why do I think they’re two different things? They are aren’t they?)
I’ve got a good few foodie magazines and I also got given the new Joshua Weissman cookbook for my birthday so there are loads of things I’d love to make!! π
Finish decorating my room (mostly anyway).
This is a dangerous goal because I’ve been telling myself that I’ll start saving in the new year π€¨. I don’t want or need to do anything huge with it tho, I’d really just like to complete a wall in my room that I’ve been adding prints/art to over time. It started out in the first lockdown last year and I’ve got plans for what else I’m going to put there but I just need the kick to do it. I love my room because it’s such a calming place as it is and I don’t want to have that blank canvas go unfinished so yeah! Another goal is to keep it tidy as well, I want to get good use out of my desk in the next year + not be continuously clearing it of whatever oddities I feel the need to throw there in the day. I’ve got big ideas and that space is needed for more than a few of them β¨.
Write loads! βοΈ
This goes for anything and everything (I do love a good open-ended goal π).
Take care of yourself and pace!
Sometimes I feel like I wake up and all of a sudden it’s time to go to bed again. Nina’s still not even a year old so it must be a new mum thing πΆπ€π€£. It’d be great if I could implement an evening/night routine to set the year of right!! In my recent post I wrote a haiku about how I’m sleeping better lately (it was the only way to announce it ππ) so that’s got to be something in terms of being able to set the rest of how I go about my evening in place, right? I’ve acknowledged my night owl ways time and time again and that was never enough π€£. Pacing is a forever journey (or maybe I’m just being dramatic) but to get through each day it’s got to be done because flare-ups happen and I don’t want annoyance towards myself over contributing to that in any way because it’s frustrating enough. Another thing I’ll put under this point, even though it’s a fairly open ended addition to the list when it comes to self care, I want to form a skincare routine and stick with it. I can be random with what I use and due to that I’m not actually aware if what works best so if I keep up with the same products them I’m bound to find a winner! π§
Make memories and have fun! π
The one goal that never fails me because you can’t go wrong with it! Christmas is VERY soon and I’m so excited for that, spending time with my family and trying to keep the dogs under control with it being our first Xmas with all three will be hilarious π€£. Above and beyond that, I’m excited to find out what the future holds! Who knows what may happen? π₯³ (I’m celebrating beforehand just incase it’s deserving of that kinda attitude π).
…And so it was written, cemented in time, the pressure to make things happen π€£. I really do I hope I can!! Maybe I should be more forceful about it and say that I know I will! π€….but then it’d be mega embarrassing if I don’t so I’ll quit while I’m ahead π. Let me know what your goals for the season ahead are! Wishing you the best of luck with them and I hope you have a lovely time!! π« See you for my next post! Don’t be a snow show! βοΈ….do you get it? I’m starting to think I don’t π. Its the best I’ve got so until next time, take care, stay safe and buh-bye! πβ€οΈβ¨
Cooking and baking are 100% two separate things! I hate cooking, despise it like the plague, but I LOVE baking. Someone once said I donβt like cooking because you have to do things simultaneously, while baking is usually everything is done one step at a time and I whole heartedly agree with that. I havenβt baked in months, but hopefully in the new year Iβll get back to it.
Good luck with all your goals, they all sound fun! π

Yeah cooking is nothing compared to baking, by the time I’ve finished cooking something I don’t want to look at it, let alone eat it π€£. With baking I’ll eat along the way + the end result! π Oooh that’s a good way of looking at it, I’ll remember that one. Hope you bake loads of delicious treats in the new year! π Thank you!! β¨π

Ahaha yes, itβs fun to pick and eat as you go when you bakeβ¦ you canβt really do that with cooking!
Thanks! π

Hope you have a great winter and a merry Christmas! Crafts and cookies are high up my list, and trying some self-care comes with that.
