Hello and welcome! This could be your first time here, it might be your last depending on how this goes π either way I’mma write the exact same thing for all of you, don’t worry about that π. Quick question, do you think January went by fast or no? One things for sure, I’ll be the first to admit this review of it is cutting things a bit fine! β I suppose it could be worse tho, it might have gotten to the stage where I did 3 months of favs in one like I did HERE π. I was actually considering it but then I thought I can’t do that to 2021!! Gotta start as I intend to go forward so today my friend, I’ve got a nice little list of favourites from the previous month for you to sort through! β¨
January was actually a really nice month mindset-wise for me! I can remember getting in bed after counting down into the new year and feeling really content in the beginning. It felt like there was magic in the air and then in the days leading on from that there was a coziness despite the dark weather that I filled with a LOT of Blue Planet episodes ππ.
I have lovely memories from those times of getting lost in life beneath the ocean. Then sunset creeped back into our lives before getting lost again, it would continue to dip back in and out for the rest of the month and bring those rare but beautiful golden moments where all is calm and the leaves on the trees are glittering in the light π. I’ve already learnt a few bits and pieces and have a sense of what I hope to do this year despite it still being early days. It’s like a revised more realistic direction and although my mood drops up and down I hold onto a sense of optimism that sees me through the not-so-good times.
All in all it was a nice start to the year, nicer than I thought it would be and in a world where it could go down hill from here I hope if anything the level of nice times I had can either remain or go up! Let’s look back at the good times to revive it mentally speaking as my health is down in the gutter atm, we’ll begin with a collage I put together at the last minute (honesty is the best policy π):

And here are my favourites! π
Naturally there’s gonna be music! π«
It has a way of making everything better πΆ. Songs I discovered were It’s Ok if You Forget Me by Astrid S, Adelaide by Johnny Orlando (I don’t know if it’s just the video but this brings to mind breezy summer days and Autumn rolled into one, a real nostalgia hit!). Then there’s Donuts by Kenzie which keeps going around in my head, it’s so good π© and Save your Tears by the Weeknd! I love the deeper meaning and everything about this song/video π (I came across it when I was checking out the entire album on YouTube which in itself has never happened with anything before so I was really lost in the story behind it all and had a proper fandom going on….To the extent that I don’t know if I’m as mad about it now but it was cool whilst it lasted! π).
Can you guess which ones I’ve abandoned? π I’ll give you a hint: it’s the pink page a day and the block paged “bullet journal” one that feels like anything but! π€ The discussion is still open on what it really is because it’s not a bujo, that’s for sure π and I do not know how to stick with it (which is a bit like my actual bullet journal…these all replaced that π). Oh, so much for a subtle hint π.
At the moment I’m really enjoying the “busy making plans” book and the What a Complete Aisling planner my sister got me, they’re part of my evening settle-down “routine” which only consists of doing that π . I truly need to get the hang of evening routines, third lockdown is worst of all it seems! π€
Pink salt shampoo & conditioner
I couldn’t leave these two off the list and why would I want to?? It would be insanity π². I recieved them for Christmas and they genuinely feel like a spa like experience at home π. The shampoo contains salt like granules and both that and the conditioner leave my hair with volume and a silky smoothness that I do find tricky to come by after going between the same products for a while. It smells refreshing too and it’s nice to have something different that is more than just washing hair because then it becomes a calming ritual (was gonna say experience but the word ritual locked into my mind and it kinda took over and now connects with what goes on ππ).
I created a post about these that went up the other day so there’s the link to that! (How eerily fortunate π….nah I planned it to go up before this ngl π). I’m to the moon, over it, then back again happy about the selection of candles I have now and none of them disappoint! There’s Blueberry cobbler, banana nut bread, vanilla poundcake and a blueberry cheesecake to top it all off (I’d honestly recommend them all so you should for sure go check out the etsy stores from which they came from via the names in that post. You can thank me later π…..even if you knew about them beforehand π I’ll take full credit don’t you worry π).
Movies πΏ
I do need to give the popcorn emoji a rest these days π. I saw some fantastic movies in January such as the Secret of Kell’s, Isle of Dogs, Soul and Wolfwalkers! πΊ They were all good for various reasons. I’d hyped up the Secret of Kell’s after wanting to see it for so long and I actually ended up enjoying Wolfwalkers (which is made by the same studio) a whole lot more! It had loads of detailed street/city scenes and they happen to be what I enjoy a lot in Song of the Sea (another one ππ) so I was in my element watching it.
Isle of dogs was a captivating film and it kept me watching the entire way through even though you could tell where it was going to an extent. It has a very calming vibe to it π«. And lastly my sister and I watched Soul!….I’m at a loss for words, it was amazing! I came away from it with a new outlook on life and felt mega inspired (I actually took note on what motivated me about it for future reference it was that good π. I can’t say what that was without spoilers though, I’m good like that. Have you seen any of these films? π₯ I’d love to know!
Thank you for checking out this post! π January felt like a mini-lifetime in itself, I don’t really know what February could do to possibly compare. I left out a couple of favourites that were written in my journal and wrote about what I wanted to share instead but I did decide to use a photo I took when we parked by the beach to watch the sunrise after an appointment as the logo for this post! π
Also, in the collage I thought I’d throw in one of birds flocking around the car when they realized I’d brought breakfast along (well my mum influenced their knowledge of this ππ). It was a really fun moment and the view was breathtaking β¨. Another piece of news is that my smallest dog underwent an operation last month but he’s much better now ππΆ the outcome is the fav, not the worry about the situation itself πππ. It was a great start to the year for me considering all that is going on and I hope for the rest of this month to pick up and follow suit! Let me know how your month went in the comments below and have a lovely Valentine’s day, see yah! π
Hi there!! It’s been very long and I feel so happy to be back again and to read your posts! January flew by, and I just don’t understand how quick time is passing for me. Those candles sound so good! I can almost smell them all the way here, and for some reason they’re making me drool XD
Hope you’re well!

Hi!!! I’m so happy to see you back here π€£. It’s strange, is like last year has altered our perception of time as it’s very difficult to even tell one day from the next. The candles are all so good!! They’re something nice in amongst these cold winter days β¨. I’m not very well at the moment but keeping positive and distracted, thanks for asking! Hope you’re doing good βπ

January feels like it was ages ago. To me it went by fast, yet slow βΒ I donβt know how else to describe it. Then again, I canβt believe that weβre halfway through February! π± It sounds like you had a pretty good start to the year!
My dad is also obsessed with the Weeknd song too. Every time it comes on the radio he goes crazy π I canβt lie itβs a pretty catchy song. I really do enjoy The Weekndβs music!
I hope you have a fabulous February! π

It really does! It’s like it was a part of last year but with a freshness to it that 2020 couldn’t capture π. Haha I know that once I start hearing my family sing it the ship will have sailed and I’ll not want to hear it again π. Yeah The Weeknd is brilliant! Thank you very much, you too!! β¨π
