My Summer bucket list 2020! πŸŒ¦οΈ

Hey, hey hey! (I was going to say “hi, hi, hi” but I’m leaning more towards “hey” even if it does make me sound like Krusty the clown 🀷 you gotta take risks in life πŸ˜‚). It’s officially Summer here in ireland and you know what that means? Yes, it does mean torrential downpour 🌧️ but it also means that it’s time for me to set myself some new seasonal goals! It feels like we had more summer-like weather in Spring but tbh I’m not too annoyed with the rain at the moment 🌦️

It was mighty tough envisioning a bucket list to undertake during isolation (even if we are in a new phase of it) especially since I am finding it difficult to get around with the pain in my legs but we got here in the end! This might be the longest bucket list I’ve ever shared with you guys (which kinda contradicts originally having no ideas πŸ€”πŸ˜‚) but it’s not too crazy so I’m hoping to have a good chance with it so here goes everything:

β€’ Make a vision board

I’ve tried to do this multiple times in the past but I feel like they were more of a random collage where I got carried away once I got over the fact that I was ruining magazines πŸ˜§πŸ˜‚ I think I might buy some ink for my printer so that I can utilize some of my favourite Pinterest quotes that motivate me to get to where I wanna be ✨…I’m not entirely sure where it is that I want to be but you can’t go wrong with plastering the things you love on a board as that will hopefully bring more of it into your life πŸ™ŒπŸ˜‚

β€’ If it rains (don’t know why I’m saying “if” because it most definitely will) I want to go sit outside with an umbrella β˜‚οΈ

I’m sure I’ve said I wanted to do this before, but then again it’s not the first time I’ve attempted half the stuff on this list anyway so deja vu is a common occurrence πŸ™„πŸ˜‚ At the beginning of the year when the rain seemed neverending I grew to somewhat hate it after it being my favourite thing for so long and I wished for sunny days to arrive. Now that the sun makes an appearance every so often I am starting to like the rain again and so this goal is a must!

β€’ Paint 🎨

I won’t limit myself to watercolours until I buy a pallette even though that’s what this goal is mainly for (just covering all boundaries here πŸ˜‚). I think I want to try that splatter art style in different colour tones and I’d also like to sketch a view outside and paint it 😍🌲

β€’ Sort out my evening routine πŸŒ™

I have a kind of framework for this (including some bits that I wrote about in a very old post HERE) and I’m planning on drawing out a chart so that I remember to follow it (Not gonna lie I want to guilt trip myself by hanging it on the wall across from my bed so that I feel like I HAVE to follow it as it’s got to be better than what I’ve got going at the moment which is pulling all nighters….well until the early hours anyway, I’ll give myself that at least πŸ˜‚).

β€’ Watch movies 🍿

The amount of times I use that popcorn emoji is unreal (do you think I’m missing cinema popcorn by any chance? Nothing compares to it in my not so humble opinion πŸ˜‚). I’m always in the mood for a good movie so I don’t know if this is mainly a goal set for finding new gems or rediscovering old ones πŸ€” Either way I’m up for it!

β€’ Do more video call baking 🍰

It’s nice having two ways to cook: alone is highly therapeutic or through video you can get in your daily dose of socializing as well and then call it a day πŸ˜‚ I wrote a bit about what it’s like HERE. Annoyingly I missed last Saturdays bake off because I wasn’t well but by the time you’re reading this I will have made rocky road cookies this morning with various family members on zoom πŸ“ΈπŸ˜†

β€’ Doodle, sketch, DRAW

This is something I always put off and I get annoyed that at any given moment I don’t just go ahead and do it because shouldn’t it be a spur of the moment thing? I dunno, maybe it’s like some self-care moments where you have to sit yourself down and say “right! You’re going to do this for yourself” and hopefully the creative juices will fall in line with that 🀞 (I hadn’t really thought of them which is a great start πŸ˜‚).

β€’ Read books outside πŸ“š

I actually can’t remember the last time I did this 😡 but I can imagine it being a really nice pastime and way to take in a good read πŸƒ I’ve brought my notebook outside to write before and I remember the feeling that washed over me when I’d look up and remember I wasn’t indoors and could take in the view + use it as inspiration πŸ’«

β€’ Get sun loungers so that we can lounge in the garden and watch the sun go down πŸŒ„

Yet another thing I feel like I’ve already written about but that’s actually just because I’ve been dreaming about it so darn much πŸ˜‚ You’d think that more places would sell sun loungers, Argos have some really nice ones but they ALL seem to be sold out (must be a fabulous idea because it seems like everyone else has thought of it too πŸ˜‚). I won’t give up on the hunt for one as this would just make our summer (the sun making an appearance again would do so as well πŸ™„).

β€’ Go camping πŸ•οΈ

Originally I was thinking of camping on my trampoline but now I want to get a tent (all or nothing! πŸ˜‚). We used to have one but that’s long gone so I’ve been searching around and I think I’ve found what I’m looking for πŸ‘€

β€’ Plan/redesign my room

This is a mood that falls over me every Autumn so I was surprised to feel like I wanted to redecorate right now 😌 Autumn is my favourite season so it’s those kind of tones that I want to incorporate and am inspired to do so mostly around that time of the year. Seeing as the designer vibes have come early I want to act on the feeling in time for Autumn itself and add some new things to my space that bring it up to speed with what I currently like as admittedly half of my room is still stuck back in the stone ages (which equates to the childhood period of life in my mind if you must know! πŸ˜‚). There are bits and pieces that I can’t bring myself to change but I’m going to tackle what I can whilst I have an open mind.

β€’ Upcycle some clothes

I have wanted to do this since a few items that I ordered from ASOS (and showed you in my haul/photoshoot post) turned up not fitting properly! I don’t know if I’ll get around to doing this πŸ€” but I will try because the items I want to alter are quite Summery and it’s only right that I get them done so that I can have some wear out of them before they get packed away for next year (or maybe they can be a surprise for 2021 when I unpack/remember them which would also be nice! πŸ˜‚).

β€’ Play my ukulele

I’ve really been enjoying playing the ukulele again so I’m not planning on stopping anytime soon! 🎢✨

β€’ Complete a craft project

I’m not entirely sure what I want to do but I know that I’d like an extra activity alongside the knitting I’m working on. The loom kits I ordered arrived a couple days ago, I think I psyched myself up for them a bit too much and now I’m not as excited πŸ™ˆ I was seeing them through fresh eyes on the website and now they’re here I’m like “right, this is real. I’ve got to actually do it now” πŸ˜‘ Hopefully those first-sight vibes will return and I’ll get started on them! πŸ˜¬πŸ˜‚

β€’ Learn Italian again

I don’t even know when I stopped. I think that other things got in the way but despite all of that it’s still something I’d very much like to learn so I’mma do my best to give it a go! Learning languages isn’t my strongest suit but it’s fun nevertheless πŸ˜‚ Oh I have an idea! I might leave sticky notes around the house so that I take in information whilst I’m just going about the place πŸ“ I’ll bet someone will think it’s rubbish and put them in the bin so there will have to be another sticky note to say what the original note is for (if you catch my drift? πŸ€” There IS method to my madness πŸ™ŒπŸ˜‚).

β€’ Read The Hobbit & Lord of The Rings trilogy + watch the movies

Can I even call myself a fan if I haven’t approached any of these in so long? πŸ˜“ I have gathered all of the DVDs that were stored in my room but I want to read the books first as I prefer things in that order when it can be helped! I’ve sideswept the books I’ve been re-reading and am now dedicating myself wholeheartedly to The Hobbit. I had forgotten how easily it is to be drawn into this world, it just feels so magical. I mean what kind of sorcery are books!? They have the power to take you away from the present moment and you won’t catch me complaining about that πŸ€·πŸ˜‚

And there we go, you now know my Summer goals! I’m going to write it all down and pin it to a board in my room. I made sure to pick things that I would like to do but I’m not going to enforce anything. What will be, will be and in that way I will enjoy the things that I do get to do 10x more! ✨ Thank you for reading! What season is it where you are? Is it Summer too? Have you set yourself any goals? Let me know in the comments below and I hope you have a wonderful day! πŸ’•

  1. I saw vision board and knew I just had to comment! I love my yearly mood/ vision boards. I did a whole video on my 2020 one on my channel πŸ₯° I hope yours goes well and that you accomplish everything you wish to in summer!

I can’t wait for summer again. It’s winter here in Aus and getting colder and colder as the days go on πŸ™ˆ

    1. Will definitely have to check out that video as I need all of the help I can get, the only thing I know that I want to put on it is a picture of my dream car πŸ˜‚ Thank you so much!! βœ¨πŸ’•Ahh I hope you have a great Winter (does that mean it’s Summer where you are around Christmas time? πŸŽ„ Everything leads back to Xmas with me πŸ˜‚).

      1. Checking out my video would mean so much πŸ™ˆ And yes, I’ve never had a cold Christmas. It’s be wierd for me to even imagine wearing anything but shorts or a sundress to Christmas lunch πŸ™ŠπŸ˜‚

      2. That’s so interesting to think about! 😡 I don’t know what I’d prefer as I seem to be a lot happier with the sun out so that would be nice instead of the moods rainy days bring along in winter but around Christmas I also like to be cozy inside whilst it’s cold outdoors as well and thats nice alongside the festivities πŸ€” in an ideal world I’d just take all the good stuff in the situation πŸ˜‚ I don’t know if I could deal with the change if I were given the option but I know of people going on holiday for a sunny Christmas (or maybe that’s just to bypass Christmas entirely and get away from the hubbub of it all now that I think about it πŸ˜‚). I’d probably stick with what I’m used to. What would you prefer if a switch could be flicked, a winter wonderland Christmas or sunny? β›„πŸŽ„

      3. I don’t think I’d swap a nice warm Christmas for a cold one. For one I hate the cold but two, summer is so much nicer for family gatherings ☺️ also my birthday is in summer a few weeks after Christmas!!

  3. These sound like great goals!!! You’ve inspired me to make my own summer bucket list, I might be sharing that soon! I’ve only been camping properly ( as in without bringing non-essential things) once, and that was pretty fun, I’d like to try again ! πŸ˜πŸ’•

    1. Thank you!! Ahh great, I’ll look forward to reading that. I’ve never been camping before so I’m hoping we’ll have a fun time, in the past we’ve set up the tent in the garden but not stayed out overnight so looking forward to that and praying that no wildlife tries to attack us πŸ˜‚πŸ¦Š Best of luck with your goals and hope you have an amazing Summer! β˜€οΈπŸ’•
