May Favourite’s 2020! ✨ Time has left the chat 🙌😂

Hi everyone! What are you up to at this exact moment in time?….maybe that’s an odd question to ask as you’re obviously reading this to hear that question so I’ve already got my answer! (Unless you’re multitasking, in which case my nosiness has returned! 😵😂). In past favourite’s posts it’s felt like things I’ve listed happened a lifetime ago (especially if it occured at the beginning of the month), those are the months that last AGES but with May it feels like everything I am going to share with you only occured yesterday so it was definitely a fast one for me 😂

Time is so messed up because of isolation (or maybe it was messed up before and we just had a different perception on what it meant 🤷….nah, THIS is messed up 😂). I keep thinking we’re now in April instead of June 😵 I’ve only gone and written it a dozen times when planning future posts 🙄 I NEED to get ahold of the situation or else I’ll have lost an entire month of my life! 😲 In an effort to close of the chapter of May and allow my mind to move onwards, today I’m sharing a few of the favourites that I gathered so let’s bloody get on with it and stop stalling!

Video call baking! 🥄 (Is it just me or did there used to be a wooden spoon emoji? 🤔).

Baking through video call with friends/family is a load of fun! (I wrote a bit about it in my MORE things I’ve been up to in Isolation post – you can find some more of my favourites over on that! I would write about them again but I’d only be repeating myself 😂). In May I made Brookies + oven baked cinnamon donuts 🤤 The brookies didn’t turn out well for anyone involved (the picture above makes me sick to my stomach if I’m being honest 😂) but the cinnamon donuts went a whole lot better despite only a few of them having an actual hole in the middle as the makeshift donut pan we created out of tinfoil wouldn’t hold in place 🙄😂

To bind the cinnamon sugar to the donuts the recipe said to use butter but I think next time I will make a glaze instead out of icing sugar as they were very buttery. I also want to try a different recipe than what we went with for the brookies as I just know they’ll be nice if it can be done right! It’s all trial and error but the experience of making stuff with friends/family is just brilliant. Think I’ve discovered the best way to do a video chat because I usually hate them, the trick is to keep busy in them so that there is something to chat & joke about ✨😂

This week I will be making icecream sandwiches with a friend and a Victoria sponge with my cousins in one household and my aunt in another. It will be different trying to keep track of what everyone is doing and making sure we taste the food together at the end but I’m sure that if past experiences are anything to go by it will be a load of laughs. Oh and we’ve got a fakeaway on the cards but haven’t planned a date! I’m thinking of choosing McDonald’s as I crave it so bad 🙌😭 (Think I’ve never meant those two emojis more than I do in this precise moment 😂).

Soap & Glory stuff + Bomb cosmetics

This brand seems to be a recurring feature on my favourites posts at the moment 😂 Last month I used the righteous butter, scrub of your life, original pink fizz-a-ball and vanilla sky bubble bath by bomb cosmetics which didn’t create many bubbles but then again I should have put it in as the bath was being run 😂 I’d never felt so PAMPERED! 🐩 Ahh that’s a cute emoji, don’t know if I’ve ever used it before 😍 *walks off into the distance whilst voiceover sets in* “….that’s life…you discover new and interesting things everyday, such as poodle emojis and things will never, EVER be the same again” 😂

Chef Academy on Hayu

I don’t even think I watch this because of the food, I just enjoy the drama! 😏😂 I haven’t finished it yet so can I even call myself a fan if I haven’t binge-watched the whole thing? 🤔 I don’t know but I DO like it so it’s gets a place on my list 👍

Barry M: Crystal Potion – Shimmer body oil

Maybe I just don’t apply as much of this as I should because I don’t feel like it lasts long but it does give a lovely glow and it really does look like a potion! 😂💫

Shimmering straw hat 👒

It is possible to be in love with a hat because I think I am 😌 I’ve always wanted a straw hat and now I finally have one! This was part of my haul from H&M and like the rest of it I am very happy with my life choices 😂 I enjoy lounging back with it over my face too which you’d think would be claustrophobic but it’s actually really calming taking in all of the woven details ✨ (The hat is probably like “WHAT is she doing?” 😂).

Jenga Tetris

I’ve had this for years but avoided playing it because it is so difficult to fit all of the pieces back into the box afterwards 😂 but who really cares if it’s fun to play anyway? (Well I did in the past but times be a-changing 😂).

Mint chocolate chip facemask

Some things you just can’t not try! It’s honestly the spitting image of mint chocolate chip ice cream and the smell…don’t even get me STARTED on the smell 😋 It’s quite dangerous to have a product that you want to eat and it takes real strength not to 💪😂 It left my skin feeling smooth and was very relaxing (even if I was exercising every muscle of my willpower not to eat it 😂).

REAL icecream 🤤

This strawberry ice cream by Carte D’Or is DELICIOUS! I’ve been having it every day lately 😂 It’s so refreshing and not too sweet, definitely the best strawberry ice cream I’ve ever had before 🙌🍓

New blogging notebook

It was getting to the point that I though I’d never finish my old blogging notebook, no offence to it but it’s such a nice feeling to start a new journal ✨ This must be my 5th or 6th one which is crazy considering I’ve almost shared 500th posts and written loads more that never made it in the end 😂 Written on the front is “There is beauty in simplicity” which is such a beautiful saying as there truly is joy to be found in the simplest things in life 💫

ASOS & H&M clothing haul + photoshoot!

I went a bit mad and bought a load of clothes and then to make myself feel okay about it I did a photoshoot to make it all worthwhile 🙂😂 You can check that out HERE. It was very fun to put together but I was bloody tired afterwards from going back and forth from my room to change 😂

Diary of a Wimpy Kid books 📚

I bought all of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books that I didn’t have yet in my collection and I have maybe 4 left to get through 😂📚 I read them before I go to sleep as they’re so easygoing and a nice way to wind down at the end of the day 😴

Knitting

I started knitting a scarf on the 23rd and a week later on the 30th I’d gotten so far! It’s nice doing something where you can see the progress taking place and it’s coming together very well (I actually put “nicely” there when I typed out this post after just saying “nice”, think I need to broaden my vocabulary a bit 😂). Knitting is such an easy task and I get most of it done in the evenings with a soap opera on in the background, it makes me feel a tiny bit productive whilst I’m watching TV 📺😂

Banana pancakes with galaxy cookie crisp 🥞

This was HEAVENLY 😍 My sister likes to make banana pancakes as a substitute for using eggs and on this particular day I had mine with a little bit of a melted galaxy cookie crisp chocolate bar and a strawberry + banana smoothie. Needless to say, it didn’t last very long 😂 Sometimes my sister will bring me pancakes in bed, she’s a good egg that one 😄 *hint hint, wink wink* make it happen again Kate 😏 Damn it, I can’t stop winking 😉👀👁️😉

Accessories

This is the stash I held back on showing you in my last post because it felt like they would get lost amongst the rest of the photos 😂 The dolphin hairclips (by ASOS design) are so cute 🐬 I wasn’t feeling well so they accompanied and spruced up my pajamas 😂. I like the idea of hoop earrings + I don’t think I own any plain ones so I made a beeline for this set on H&M. The paperclip earings (also by ASOS design) are super cool, perfect for the crazy stationery lady in your life 😂
