My Blogging Essentials! πŸ™Œ Can’t do without em! πŸ’«

Hello! How are things with you? ❀️ I was recently scrolling through my blogs draft folder and I decided to spruce up my blogging essentials to share with you today because I thought it would be an easy-going read β˜• (don’t know why I put a hot beverage emoji there because today is WARM and all I want to drink is a gallon of ice water, the choice is yours what you drink whilst you read this…but yeah I’m obviously judging if it’s a hot beverage, honesty is the best policy and I want this relationship to be built on a solid ground πŸ€·πŸ˜‚).

Anywho, it feels like I’ve already shared this post but that’s only because it has been in the drafts folder for so long (I’ll bet it never thought it’d see the light of day πŸ˜‚). There are a couple of things that I cannot blog without so I thought it would be fun to give you an insight into what goes on behind this blog. I actually have a number of post ideas that involve sharing my blogging process so let me know if you’re interested in seeing those! (πŸ‘Yay or nay….like a horseπŸ‘ŽπŸŽπŸ˜‚). Here are my blogging essentials:

My Phone

I blog completely through my phone, mostly through the WordPress app but if there is a glitch then I will use the sight instead which still looks new to me as I’m hardly ever on there πŸ˜‚ I also use the camera on my phone for blogging photos a lot more than I use my canon camera but I want to switch that up a little (It’s looking like I will very soon as I want to take a load of photos of a recent clothing haul I got and maybe do a Summer outfits post 🌞).

A clear mind

This is SUPER important! Only when my mind is a clear space can I grab freely at it for the words that fit with the ideas. If I’m stressed then blogging isn’t fun at all and even though I might write down how I feel it rarely makes its way on here as that is personal and goes in a whole other journal so I always try my best to take advantage of a clear mind.

My blogging journal

I recently started a new one! I must be on my fifth or sixth notebook now which feels odd considering how many posts I have written and even then there are loads more that I never even shared πŸ˜‚ It’s nice having something to flick through and look back on my blogging journey as well as seeing posts come together. I always keep my notebook by my side incase inspiration sparks as that stuff is gold dust ⚑

Inspiration

Sometimes I’ll go through spates where I have so many ideas and then all of a sudden it will end and I’ll be left wondering where it all went wrong πŸ˜•πŸ˜‚ I have learned to always take note of these ideas when they are readily available in my blogging journal though like I said above. Sometimes even though I have a long list and won’t be running out anytime soon I’m not in the mood for the ideas that I do have or ready to share posts that are complete in the drafts folder so I must come up with something different that I’m equally as proud of. I do tend to look back on the tips I shared for when you’re in a blogging rut quite a lot and let me just tell you, I’m grateful that my past self wrote that πŸ™ŒπŸ˜‚

My lists!

I have a load of different lists that allow me to keep track of/remember all of the things that go along with blogging (such as posts ready to be uploaded, posts that still need an image and so on). I find them super helpful, you can read all about them HERE!

The right surroundings

I don’t have a specific space that I write, a lot of my creativity is alive or should I say awake when I should be sleeping at night πŸŒ™ but then again sometimes I can just be going about my day somewhere and I want (no I NEED) to write so for me it’s just a state of mind that can take over wherever and whenever (I wish I could have ideas arrive on command though πŸ™ŒπŸ˜‚).

In isolation I’ve put aside time where I go up to my room to write as it’s the quietest place in the house and there I can type out what I have written down and I can get through a number of blogging tasks without distractions. Tbh typing out posts is the toughest thing for me, writing them down is a doddle but for some reason it takes ages for me to get around to typing them out even if I have the time to do so 😦 I don’t know why this is but anyway, when I go up to my room with the goal in mind to type, that is when it gets done (mostly through sheer determination πŸ˜‚).

A pen full of ink

I don’t even think I used this many pens when I was in school πŸ–ŠοΈπŸ˜ Annoyingly, the nicest pens that allow the writing to flow, run out of ink the fastest so I need some new stationery (that’s my story and I’m sticking to it πŸ˜‚). Know of any good stationery sites? The only one I can think of is Paperchase and I got through looking at their stock in 10 minutes so I need more eye candy πŸ‘€πŸ¬

Thank you for reading! πŸ˜‰ I would love to know what your blogging essentials are! Do we have any in common? (I’d say some of them are the same for everyone). Take care and have a lovely day! ❀️

  1. Hey Elsie! I’m loving al these bogging themed posts, they are super fun to read! πŸ’“ I seriously should start some blogging lists though, you really are inspiring me haha! Every Sunday I do plan out what I’m going to post that week but it never seems to go to plan which really sucks! πŸ˜” I was drinking iced coffee aha so don’t come at me! πŸ˜‚ It’s cold where I live today, but it was so nice and warm yesterday! I actually share a lot of these blogging essentials, but I most agree with the clear mind one because it’s impossible to blog when something is bugging your mind and if I do manage to draft a post, when I re-read it the next day I have to change everything because it just doesn’t sound right! πŸ˜‚ Anyways lovely post Elsie and sorry I’m late πŸ’“

    1. Ahhh thank you Amber! πŸ˜„ Give it a go and see if you find it helpful ✨ I can never stick to a plan either! I’d say I only really know what I’m going to post the day before and everything else is up in the air. I’ll hold myself back! πŸ˜‚β˜• but gosh, iced coffee does sound GOOD 🀀 I’m hoping for a cold day soon because it’s so warm here, don’t even feel hydrated after drinking water πŸ˜•πŸ˜‚ Same! I always try to write regardless as at least then there is something to edit later on. That really means a lot and you’re not late at all! Just grateful for a lovely comment, take care ❀️❀️

      1. Of course! πŸ’• For sure! Haha tell me about it, my coffee post was supposed to be out on Monday but life through me a curveball πŸ˜‚ Haha you do that! Iced coffee is amazing, just posted a recipe for it if you’re interested ☺️ Oh no, it must be seriously hot! Honestly it is a cloudy day today and I want a hot day because the beach is calling me and I finally finished online school! Agreed, it’s nice to draft a post even if there is still lots more to add as it still makes you feel accomplished πŸ’• Aw of course, I always love catching up with your posts! Ever since I found your blog I’m obsessed πŸ˜‚ You too! πŸ™‚

      2. Annoyingly I can’t have coffee as much as I’m always tempted to but that will NOT stop me from checking out that rather intriguing post πŸ˜‚ I never used to like coffee and when I started drinking it I had no idea the effect it would have on my migraines so I kept it up until I noticed a pattern and I wish I’d been oblivious the whole time as it’s such a wonderful creation πŸ™Œβ˜•

It’s weird now because today was super breezy outside (our bins tipped over and we had to clean up the mess…well I watched from the safety of my chair anyway πŸ˜πŸ˜‚), and pollen is floating about like snow but it’s still so warm. Weather is weird. Oh my God I miss the beach πŸ–οΈ Congrats on finishing online school! How did you find it? Ahh thank you!! That means a lot coming from the amazing blogger/writer that you are! βœ¨πŸ’•

      3. Awh no I get you haha, bu seriously do check it out!! I’m not sure if decaf coffee would work for you maybe? It gives the same flavour ☺️ Oh that’s a nightmare, you must have been so disappointed when you discovered the connection between the two 😞
Yes, today has been super breezy too! Haha I don’t blame you, that’s totally me too πŸ˜‚ Water is strange, preach that. The beach is amazing, I’m lucky to live on an island so beach is everywhere!! πŸ– Thank you so much, I’m relieved to have finished! It’s okay, but it can really de-motivate me some days and make me feel like I’ve got nothing to get up for! Tiring and stressful would be my two favoured adjectives to go with it haha, awww!! Thank you!! xx

      4. Hope that feeling of de-motivation goes away! πŸ™Œ It is always a odd feeling when I complete a course but sooner or later something comes along and takes its place ✨ I just seem to be in a long waiting phase of finding that something πŸ˜‚ haha, those are two understandable choice words and you’re very welcome! πŸ’•πŸ’•

      5. Tell me about it, today and yesterday have been a lot better but over the weekend it was tough 😞 Tell me about it, it’s like you don’t know whether to be relieved or almost sad! Agreed! At the moment it feels like with everything I’ve started I’ve bitten off a lot more than I can chew and it’s putting a lot of stress on me, so I’m trying to prioritise what is it important (like blogging!) an use any spare time to do the rest πŸ’“

  3. What a lovely post! ❀️ Sometimes I get much inspiration and then sometimes I am stuck which is frustrating at times. I love to make list and always use my laptop for blogging. I don’t like to write through my mobile phone haha.

  4. Love this list! It makes a ton of sense. By the way, how do you blog only through your phone?! I always use my laptop lol. And I actually never use pens while blogging? πŸ˜³πŸ˜… Wonderful post! I’m craving a bucket of ice too πŸ˜‰

    1. Ahh thank you! πŸ˜„πŸ’• I’ve gotten used to it, I don’t know if I’d use my laptop if it were possible because I’m so slow at typing out on a keyboard πŸ™ˆπŸ˜‚ oh really? That’s interesting, I couldn’t be without my journal πŸ˜‚ Haha, it would be soooo nice ❄️ Thanks for reading! ❀️
