My Blogging Essentials! πŸ™Œ Can’t do without em! πŸ’«

Hello! How are things with you? ❀️ I was recently scrolling through my blogs draft folder and I decided to spruce up my blogging essentials to share with you today because I thought it would be an easy-going read β˜• (don’t know why I put a hot beverage emoji there because today is WARM and all I want to drink is a gallon of ice water, the choice is yours what you drink whilst you read this…but yeah I’m obviously judging if it’s a hot beverage, honesty is the best policy and I want this relationship to be built on a solid ground πŸ€·πŸ˜‚).

Anywho, it feels like I’ve already shared this post but that’s only because it has been in the drafts folder for so long (I’ll bet it never thought it’d see the light of day πŸ˜‚). There are a couple of things that I cannot blog without so I thought it would be fun to give you an insight into what goes on behind this blog. I actually have a number of post ideas that involve sharing my blogging process so let me know if you’re interested in seeing those! (πŸ‘Yay or nay….like a horseπŸ‘ŽπŸŽπŸ˜‚). Here are my blogging essentials:

My Phone

I blog completely through my phone, mostly through the WordPress app but if there is a glitch then I will use the sight instead which still looks new to me as I’m hardly ever on there πŸ˜‚ I also use the camera on my phone for blogging photos a lot more than I use my canon camera but I want to switch that up a little (It’s looking like I will very soon as I want to take a load of photos of a recent clothing haul I got and maybe do a Summer outfits post 🌞).

A clear mind

This is SUPER important! Only when my mind is a clear space can I grab freely at it for the words that fit with the ideas. If I’m stressed then blogging isn’t fun at all and even though I might write down how I feel it rarely makes its way on here as that is personal and goes in a whole other journal so I always try my best to take advantage of a clear mind.

My blogging journal

I recently started a new one! I must be on my fifth or sixth notebook now which feels odd considering how many posts I have written and even then there are loads more that I never even shared πŸ˜‚ It’s nice having something to flick through and look back on my blogging journey as well as seeing posts come together. I always keep my notebook by my side incase inspiration sparks as that stuff is gold dust ⚑

Inspiration

Sometimes I’ll go through spates where I have so many ideas and then all of a sudden it will end and I’ll be left wondering where it all went wrong πŸ˜•πŸ˜‚ I have learned to always take note of these ideas when they are readily available in my blogging journal though like I said above. Sometimes even though I have a long list and won’t be running out anytime soon I’m not in the mood for the ideas that I do have or ready to share posts that are complete in the drafts folder so I must come up with something different that I’m equally as proud of. I do tend to look back on the tips I shared for when you’re in a blogging rut quite a lot and let me just tell you, I’m grateful that my past self wrote that πŸ™ŒπŸ˜‚

My lists!

I have a load of different lists that allow me to keep track of/remember all of the things that go along with blogging (such as posts ready to be uploaded, posts that still need an image and so on). I find them super helpful, you can read all about them HERE!

The right surroundings

I don’t have a specific space that I write, a lot of my creativity is alive or should I say awake when I should be sleeping at night πŸŒ™ but then again sometimes I can just be going about my day somewhere and I want (no I NEED) to write so for me it’s just a state of mind that can take over wherever and whenever (I wish I could have ideas arrive on command though πŸ™ŒπŸ˜‚).

In isolation I’ve put aside time where I go up to my room to write as it’s the quietest place in the house and there I can type out what I have written down and I can get through a number of blogging tasks without distractions. Tbh typing out posts is the toughest thing for me, writing them down is a doddle but for some reason it takes ages for me to get around to typing them out even if I have the time to do so 😦 I don’t know why this is but anyway, when I go up to my room with the goal in mind to type, that is when it gets done (mostly through sheer determination πŸ˜‚).

A pen full of ink

I don’t even think I used this many pens when I was in school πŸ–ŠοΈπŸ˜ Annoyingly, the nicest pens that allow the writing to flow, run out of ink the fastest so I need some new stationery (that’s my story and I’m sticking to it πŸ˜‚). Know of any good stationery sites? The only one I can think of is Paperchase and I got through looking at their stock in 10 minutes so I need more eye candy πŸ‘€πŸ¬

Thank you for reading! πŸ˜‰ I would love to know what your blogging essentials are! Do we have any in common? (I’d say some of them are the same for everyone). Take care and have a lovely day! ❀️

  1. Oh my gosh, I am SUCH a night owl! lol. Also a fan of blogging at strange and random hours, hehe.

Whenever I get inspiration to write, I’ll go at it for hours.. usually much longer than just a sitting. Any spur of the moment ideas get put into the notes app of my phone and then I transfer and build on them in WordPress!

  2. Ahhh I used to write my blog posts down and type them up but now I type them out as I think. It ain’t that good because I can’t write down stuff anymore and that results in me spending more screen time on blogging. I totally agree on listsss!! I still find it shocking that you’re able to blog from your phone! So cool. Loved this post ❀

    1. I’m too scared to directly type them onto my blog incase they get deleted and I can’t remember any of it. Even so, as I go along I’ll take screenshots incase a post disappears πŸ˜‚ haha, yeah I always try to spend more time writing down then I do typing because staring at the screen affects my head badly. I used to wish that I could do it through my laptop but I think I’d find that format tricky, it’s easier to take it with me wherever I go. Thank you so much!! πŸ˜„βœ¨πŸ’•

  3. I love this post! πŸ’› I have two notebooks for blogging, one for ideas and the other to keep track of my posts. I usually write my posts in the Notes app on my phone and then send them to Word to spellcheck before uploading them to WordPress on my computer πŸ‘©πŸΌβ€πŸ’» I tried to upload using the app before but it changed the font somehow on just that one post idk what I did wrong πŸ™ˆ I love stationery! My favourite places to buy stationery are Paperchase, WHSmith and Sainsburys πŸ’›

    1. Thank you so much! πŸ˜„ I should really dedicate a notebook to ideas as I just have a list instead. That’s a good idea to type them out elsewhere before sending them over. Is strange it did that on the app but there are a LOT of glitches πŸ˜‚ ahh thanks for the recommendations, will have to take a look at WHSmith! πŸ’•
