Do you wanna know the books I’m re-reading? 📚

Hi everyone! I’ll answer that question for you: why yes Lucy of course I do! 😄😂 Wait…is that a “no” I hear? Well tough because I spent some time putting this post together and “some” just so happens to be a codeword for A LOT (so substitute that in and feel guilty about your past choices 👍). What’s that? You originally said no but now you’re saying yes? Well I’m glad you changed your mind, I can’t think of why but I’m not gonna question it! ☺️

Today I’m going to share with you the books that I’m re-reading! 📚 You know that I was gonna buy stuff from the Book Depository? (Well if you didn’t, ya do now!). Based off an order that my sister placed over a month ago that is yet to arrive, I’m holding back on that proclamation! 😂 I have ordered some books from Easons but they’re mostly just relaxing things to read before I sleep (I swear by reading Diary of a wimpy kid before you go to sleep, no joke 🙌 or else I wouldn’t now own the entire collection solely because of that 🤷😂). I also received Toffee by Sarah Crossan from Easons yesterday too (the reason why I’m not getting EVERYTHING that I wanted from them is because they don’t have all of the books that I want and BD do so they better ship out soon 😂). Until I can actually have those glorious books on my full-on shopping list in my life I’m choosing to re-read some of my past fav’s starting with this lot:

The Mortal Instruments & The Infernal Devices

In my mind I used to live vicariously through these books 😂 I cannot put into words how much I loved The Mortal Instruments, so much that it pains me to say that I’m re-reading them to remind myself what happened because how could I forget something so good? 😵 I want to catch up because I remember being really excited about The Dark Artifices (I had only just started book one, Lady Midnight when other things took my attention!). If I can get up to where I left off I can get the new books and be up to date on what’s going on in the Shadowhunter world (and what a glorious day that will be ✨😂).

So far it’s a totally different experience than the first time I read it but truthfully I’m hoping it will soon mirror the exact same feeling I used to get (maybe it won’t because it was new to me back then though 😕). I want to become as connected to the characters as I used to be in a sense that I felt like I knew them personally and was fully there with them (maybe as an unmentioned character 😂) as well as create a mind movie that no film could replicate. Whenever I come across parts that I remember I get those ASMR tingles in my head for some reason, you know the type that you can get when a specific song plays sometimes?? I wonder if there’s a way to automatically release that chemical into your brain because it feels so magical but saying that sounds a bit odd at the same time 😂✨

Beautiful Creatures

When I think of the Beautiful Creatures books, what comes to mind is how detailed they were and yet suffice to say I can’t for the life of me remember what they were about 🙌😂 I don’t think I have all of the books so I can’t remember if I got to a point where I realized that I didn’t really like it but I wanna be the judge of that again as my taste is constantly changing (I never used to like ketchup and now I do 🤷…but only from a satchet, don’t put a tube in-front of me 🤢). Are there any books you never used to like and now do?

The Fandom

This is the only individual book I’m re-reading but not for long because when I was on a hunt for what to order from the Book Depository I was looking at my bookcase thinking “what do I wish had a sequel?” and I picked this not knowing AT ALL that there is one out there!! 😮 Honestly, I needed it from the moment I realized it existed. But until then I need to brush up on what went down in the first book so I want to read it again. That shouldn’t be a problem as I remember thinking back when I was first lost in it that it wasn’t a one-time thing, I’d be sure to pick it up again so I’m excited to do just that!

Matched

I have no idea how far into the Matched trilogy I was 🤔 I might have gotten halfway into the last book but since I’ve forgotten all that happened I recently started it again and I can see why I liked it so much! 🙌 With these books, whenever I restart them I always get distracted so I don’t know if I will get to that last book again but I’ll bloody well try! 😂

The Gone series

This must have been the first ever series that I was obsessed with and that is a bittersweet thought to realize where it all started ✨ I remember where it ended but I want to go back to the beginning and fill in all of the missing pieces in my memory.

The Hunger Games

I’ve been tempted to revisit this series especially since my cousin is in love with them too and the references spark the fangirl within me 😂 *tries to casually put out the flame that the spark creates because fangirls are judged enough without being on fire too🔥* 😂 I have been reminded of how good The Hunger Games books are and I’m looking forward to delving into that dystopian setting again 💫

A Court of Thorns and Roses

I’m actually unsure whether or not I should re-read these because flashback to a few months ago and I was ready to move onto Throne of Glass (you’ve just witnessed me remembering that there are 2 books of another series in my possession that I am yet to finish and here I am RE-reading my old books 🙈😂). I might just have to go read those new ones first and get something completely new into my system before I delve back into that world or maybe I might just confuse myself….

I dunno, I don’t have all of the answers to these difficult questions but what I do have is a big decision to make as to what direction I should go in 😔 (let me just have something to focus on, no matter how dramatic it may sound, it’s nice making something so miniscule into a problem that can actually be solved in the end and solve it I will! 😂).

Thank you for reading what I’m re-reading! 😂 I kinda scattered my questions for you throughout the post so I’ll end with: are you re-reading any books? Past favourite’s or ones you would like to learn to love? Let me know and I hope you have a lovely day! 💕

  2. I would LOVE to read A Court of Thorns and Roses again. I have a feeling i’ll dislike the first book a lot just because the 2nd is my favorite XD Props for rereading Beautiful Creatures! I feel like I read the 1st book and enjoyed it but I can’t remember. I do remember buying the 2nd book just because it was a bargain book but I never read it because I heard the series got worse, lol! I hope you enjoy them! I actually hope you enjoy all of your rereads! It’s so disappointing to reread something and then dislike it when you use to love it. 😦

    1. I am definitely going to have a different perspective of Tamlin this time round as the next couple of books painted him in such a different image and I don’t know if I’m prepared to try and put myself in that past headspace again 😂 Yeah I’m really hoping that I do enjoy Beautiful Creatures and I hope it doesn’t get worse. Ahh thank you! Omg yes! I’m a bit worried that will happen and that I’ve placed a couple series up on pedestals that they won’t meet 😧 Thank you so much for reading! 😄❤️

      1. Ahaha yes will do!!😂👍 It’s about this young teenage blogger, girl named Tessa(she’s the one that gave me inspiration to start blogging!), who goes bling in a car accident and finds herself in need of a person that will write out her poems for her blog and answer back comments. And this guy (Weston) shows up at her door one day (how he does is in the story) and offers her to write her blog posts, anyway the story develops into a young-love romance/hate situation and it is just really well written out! If you can you should totally check it out, it’s so good!!💘(Oh and might I add Weston has no legs because of an accident, which the author explains in Weston’s POV) all in all it’s just a great read 💘💘

      2. That’s so cool how you got inspiration to blog! 💫 It honestly sounds so good and like nothing I’ve ever heard before. It’s not every day I come across a unique plotline anymore so that one is for sure going on my wishlist! 🙌✨ Thank you for explaining it to me, this might be the moment that you introduced me to a future fav that I will be re-reading in the next version of this post 😵😂 Take care ❤️

  4. I love this post, Elsie! It’s great that you’re reading old favourites. Currently I’m working my way though The Goldfinch for the first time and I don’t want to put it down for the sake of re-reading The Hunger Games – but I really want to! With the new book approaching I just can’t beat that inner fangirl wanting to enjoy them over again. Take care x

    1. Thank you so much! I heard about The Goldfinch, is it good? YES! I only learned of the new books existence a month or so ago as I’d closed off that chapter in my life 😂 and since then I’ve been so excited! ✨ Thank you, you too ❤️

      1. The Goldfinch is such a stunning book. I’m taking it nice and slow but also very eager to see how it ends. Since the weather is so stunning here I’m going to definitely read a bit in the garden this afternoon! x
