An Isolation Haiku! 💫 Lemme break it down for you 😂

We are safe inside

Protecting thousands of lives

Who would have thunk it?

Howdy! (…that was the default opening line for my email subscribers and you will NOT believe how embarrassed I was when I found out but today I’mma roll with it! 😂). How are you doing? ❤️ It’s been a while since I wrote, let alone shared, a haiku but I wanted to write one that asked two particular questions that I reckon have been playing on a lot of peoples minds at the moment. This Haiku is a mixture of who would have thought staying inside could save lives and also who would have thought a virus like this would come along at all? *insert Mind-blown emoji that my phone is too old to even comprehend*

For those of you that don’t know (maybe I should have mentioned it in the last paragraph but I can’t find a place for it 😂), a haiku is a poem made up of 3 lines. The first line is supposed to have 5 syllables, the second has 7 and the third has 5 again. Now we’ve gotten that out of the way, let me tell you what I’m up to! The anticipation is unreal *severe sarcasm* 😂.

Today is a going to be a very bookish day for me, I’m trying to persuade myself to hit the purchase button over on Book Depository but things have gotten extreme so I’m in a conundrum over whether or not I should pull the plug on the whole thing. I’ve finally converted to online shopping after all these years (I started by buying my dogs new beds 😊😂) although I’m still wary of using my card, I’m not gonna lie! I suppose it’s a good trait to hold onto as it means I’m only going to buy things I’m 100% sure of (if at all!). I have 35 books in my basket and YES I will do a haul post if I do get them because I’m me and can’t not! 😂

In keeping with it being a bookish day I’ve had my head in-between the pages of What If It’s Us by Becky Albertalli & Adam Silvera for a good while now and sadly I’m nearing the end 😧 It’s such a good read and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it, so much that I’m thinking of doing fan art (which I’ve wanted to do with some other books too) but the pivotal scene for this one just seemed like the right place to start as I have a picture of it in my mind that is so vivid and I just want to create it! (Gosh, isolation is bringing back my artistic side now who would have thunk THAT…not me as you can tell 😂). I’ve been sharing a lot of my artsy stuff in my stories over on Instagram and they’ll soon take pride of place on my feed so don’t be a stranger because I hate to break it to you but you’re missing out! 😂

Thanks you for gracing this post with your presence 😉 What do you think of my haiku? What would you include in your isolation haiku? And what on Earth are you up to today? Let me know and I hope you have a wonderful day whatever you do ✨ Take care! 💕

Previous post: Apps I could NOT live without!…I’m not even joking 😂

Here are some past haikus of mine if you’re interested in giving them a read:

Rise

…But I appreciate it

(You can tell I’m a newbie with that short a list but you gotta start somewhere! 😂).

  2. Ahhhh you’re so good at haikus I remember we had to write ones in 6th grade and I think i wrote one about me being a potato and a shopaholic. Yes, it’s so deep I know. And ah speaking of shopaholic, I literally tell my dad to give me allowance in cash instead of card because all of it goes poof when I browse amazon. Oops. Love this!!!

    1. Thank you so much!! 😄 That sounds like it would have made for an interesting haiku for sure! 😂 My sister used to always withdraw her money too as then she would be less likely to spend it 😂 Thanks lovely 💕💕

  3. Hey Elsie! I loved this so much 💖 Honestly I’m an online shopping guru, but I will only buy things if I need them. I’ve been doing a lot of clothes shopping AND have managed to have a mini glow up for my room so that’s pretty darn awesome! And just go for it on the book haul, you deserve to treat yourself Elsie 😊 Today I’m first of all blogging, learning some more Italian, reading and just doing some little jobs that I’ve been meaning to do for a while you know? Loved this Haiku – it was so beautiful and I’ve learnt what Haiku means now which is great – thank you for enlightening me! 😀 Love this post 🙂 xx

    1. Aww thank you so much! 😄 I wish I could find somewhere to clothes shop where I like more than one thing so that I feel valid in placing the order 😂 That’s cool about your room! So kind of you 📚❤️ Best of luck learning Italian! I had a go a couple of years ago but I’m hopeless at sticking to things. Really appreciate that, thanks again! ✨💕💕

      1. Aw of course! 💗 Haha honestly I love lots of clothes and have quite a wide range of style so clothes shopping is very easy for me (I’m lucky to to be honest)! 😆 Aw thank you so much! 💖 Haha, I’m probably gonna need it! That sucks Elsie – I’m pretty good at sticking to things (I’ve been playing the violin for 8 years 😂) so who knows where it will take me! Anytime ⭐️ xx
