We are safe inside
Protecting thousands of lives
Who would have thunk it?
Howdy! (…that was the default opening line for my email subscribers and you will NOT believe how embarrassed I was when I found out but today I’mma roll with it! 😂). How are you doing? ❤️ It’s been a while since I wrote, let alone shared, a haiku but I wanted to write one that asked two particular questions that I reckon have been playing on a lot of peoples minds at the moment. This Haiku is a mixture of who would have thought staying inside could save lives and also who would have thought a virus like this would come along at all? *insert Mind-blown emoji that my phone is too old to even comprehend*
For those of you that don’t know (maybe I should have mentioned it in the last paragraph but I can’t find a place for it 😂), a haiku is a poem made up of 3 lines. The first line is supposed to have 5 syllables, the second has 7 and the third has 5 again. Now we’ve gotten that out of the way, let me tell you what I’m up to! The anticipation is unreal *severe sarcasm* 😂.
Today is a going to be a very bookish day for me, I’m trying to persuade myself to hit the purchase button over on Book Depository but things have gotten extreme so I’m in a conundrum over whether or not I should pull the plug on the whole thing. I’ve finally converted to online shopping after all these years (I started by buying my dogs new beds 😊😂) although I’m still wary of using my card, I’m not gonna lie! I suppose it’s a good trait to hold onto as it means I’m only going to buy things I’m 100% sure of (if at all!). I have 35 books in my basket and YES I will do a haul post if I do get them because I’m me and can’t not! 😂
In keeping with it being a bookish day I’ve had my head in-between the pages of What If It’s Us by Becky Albertalli & Adam Silvera for a good while now and sadly I’m nearing the end 😧 It’s such a good read and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it, so much that I’m thinking of doing fan art (which I’ve wanted to do with some other books too) but the pivotal scene for this one just seemed like the right place to start as I have a picture of it in my mind that is so vivid and I just want to create it! (Gosh, isolation is bringing back my artistic side now who would have thunk THAT…not me as you can tell 😂). I’ve been sharing a lot of my artsy stuff in my stories over on Instagram and they’ll soon take pride of place on my feed so don’t be a stranger because I hate to break it to you but you’re missing out! 😂
Thanks you for gracing this post with your presence 😉 What do you think of my haiku? What would you include in your isolation haiku? And what on Earth are you up to today? Let me know and I hope you have a wonderful day whatever you do ✨ Take care! 💕
Previous post: Apps I could NOT live without!…I’m not even joking 😂
Here are some past haikus of mine if you’re interested in giving them a read:
• Rise
(You can tell I’m a newbie with that short a list but you gotta start somewhere! 😂).
here’s my attempt at a haiku
(im the worst at it and i have no idea whether the last line is five or six syllables. i tend to speak really fast with a weird rhythm that counting syllables is something i struggle with)
oh thou is grateful
compassionate people live
saving our lives

Oh my goodness that is an amazing one! I’m not sure about the last line either but I still love it 😂✨ Thank you so much for sharing a haiku!! 💕

Yooo!
i feel you about using your card online! i had to use it for the first time to book my theory online and also sneakily order some gifts for my mum and my heart was like thud thud thud all the time. i just prefer spending money irl if that makes sense? where i feel safer and less likely to do something stupid and make my money disappear xD
anyways whether the book haul goes ahead or not – please do share what 35 books you’ve got your eyes on! also, i use book depo and book people in the past. they’re like the bestttt places to buy books online and it all arrives so quickly in a bright red box and it’s so exciting to unpack

I’m glad I’m not the only one who gets worried about using a card like that! I always have to ring the bank after I use my card online to check that everything went through okay 😂 I definitely will! 📚✨💕

Definitely press purchase on those books if you want them! I’ve been getting through what I already have before placing an order. However, I do want to buy a few books soon. My TBR is 20 books tall on Goodreads, but I only own about three of them haha! Cannot wait to see the haul, and hope you enjoy them 🙂

I think I’m definitely going to get them today after making sure I have the space for them 😂 I’m so excited although I’ve stared at my basket for so long it feels like I already own them and I’m losing interest fast because of that 😬 Thank you so much! ✨💕
