My Autumnal Comforts! πŸ

Hi everyone! How are you? ❀️ It’s the most wonderful time of the year 🎢 (just taking a leaf out of my new Twitter header photo there πŸ˜‚). Today I’m going to be sharing my autumnal comforts with you! πŸ‚ This is my favourite season (I once wrote a post on all that I love about it HERE) and although I underestimated how much it would rain (a lot is the answer to that underlying question πŸ˜‚) I am loving every minute of it and so I thought I’d highlight what it is that makes Autumn so amazing, drumroll please πŸ₯….the comforts!

I understand that this time can get some people down as it is such a sharp contrast from Summer but I hope this helps you a little bit and you can feed off of my love for the season! (That doesn’t sound creepy at all πŸ˜‚). Here goes everything:

Blankets + throws

I’ll admit that at the moment I mostly use them as backdrops πŸ˜πŸ˜‚ but as Autumn moves on into winter I will soon have a blanket sprawled out over my bed for that extra bit of much needed warmth πŸ€—πŸ›Œ When I go to sleep I snuggle up with my hot water bottle but when I wake up in the morning it’s gone cold so it’s nice to pull up a blanket and go back to dreamland (until a reasonable hour in the afternoon, girl’s gotta have her lay in πŸ˜‚).

Candles

My candle collection is forever growing and that kind of behavior is acceptable in the freezing cold months so I’m here for it πŸ˜‚ There are some I have received as gifts that are far too pretty to light but I think this year is when I will bite the bullet and just use them as otherwise who knows how long they’ll just be sitting there!? Do you guys want me to do a post on my candle collection? πŸ€” (It would be more interesting than it sounds….hold on a minute it already sounds pretty damn awesome! πŸ˜‚).

A hot drink β˜•

I am loving all of the seasonal hot drinks that cafes are coming out with (although I REALLY hope Costa don’t skip on having their Orange hot chocolate! It’s what gets me through the year knowing that I’ll have it again πŸ€žπŸ˜‚).

Dressing gown

Mine smells of Lenor πŸ€— (…until Toby my smallest dog climbs into my bed and curls up in it anyway! He’s cute though so it’s fine πŸ˜‚). I practically live in my dressing gown when I’m home even if I’m not in my pajamas I’ll still put my gown on over whatever I’m wearing so as to stay warm and cozy.

Scenery

You can find me staring out of the window at the golden leaves as they fall from the trees and slowly cascade down to the ground, landing in a mighty pile that the wind soon breezes over the land πŸ’«….sorry, I went off into a trance there πŸ˜‚

Fairy lights

I believe it’s the perfect time of the year for them! 😍 Mine are back out and will be featuring in a very exciting post soon πŸ‘€ Fairy lights are so magical, whenever I switch them on I feel very positive, happy and just more relaxed in general ✨ (in short, I’m good to be around when fairylights are in town! πŸ˜‚).

Sweater weather

Our wish on that shooting star has been answered 😯…Sweater weather is here again!! Last week I packed away all of my Summer clothes and reintroduced sweaters into my life! Good times πŸ˜‚ I’m loving being able to see what it is that I own in terms of colder weather clothing whenever I open my wardrobe and most of the stuff is so heavy that it straightens out the creases and doesn’t need ironing, result! πŸ™Œ

Hot water bottle

Mine burst the other week (I was wondering why I was hotter than usual πŸ˜‰πŸ™ˆπŸ˜‚….it was the boiling water on me that did it!). Whenever I’ve been out and am just coming in the door the first thing I do is pop on the kettle for a hot water bottle πŸ€— they are also AMAZING when you’ve just woken up in the morning and it’s freezing cold (I think I appreciate these ones the most πŸ˜‚ they are a great start and end to any autumnal day).

Fluffy socks

Throughout the summer I slept without any socks on but as soon as Autumn swept in I have been sleeping in my fluffy socks and they are so cozy it’s unbelievable! πŸ˜„…the only problem is when I take them off the next day my feet are unbelievably cold!! They grow unaccustomed to the weather in the space of a night πŸ˜‚

Comfort food

Stuff like homemade apple crumble and stew are all the more enjoyable when it’s cold outside and you’re tucking into a warm meal πŸ›. I feel like I take more notice of what I’m eating in Autumn πŸ€” like I’m more in tune with what’s going on in general and I feel more me (maybe because I’m an Autumn baby πŸ‘ΆπŸ½πŸ˜‚).

Thank you for reading! What are your Autumnal comforts? Anything you know I would love? Have a cozy day! ❀️

  1. YESS!! All of this! But if you like snuggling up with regular blankets, you should give weighted blankets a try!

I want to decorate my bedroom to basically be the physical manifestation of this post. I’ll let you know if I ever do that. lol

  2. I didn’t know Costa did an orange hot chocolate! It sounds really good 😊 I’m also a huge sweater and fluffy socks fan – I actually wear fluffy socks around the house throughout most of the year, because it’s comfortable so why not! πŸ˜…

    1. Sadly I think this is another year they are skipping it πŸ˜₯ I wish they’d have it every year as it is so good! I’m so happy to have sweaters and fluffy socks back in my life. My feet would burn if I wore them in summer but I wish things were different! πŸ˜‚ Hope you continue to enjoy the season and thank you so much for reading 😊✨❀️
