Just to let WordPress bloggers know! 🚨 *Important*

Hi everyone! ❤️ This post is just a little announcement for WordPress bloggers that I hope informs those of you that aren’t already aware of a problem going around concerning the app! For some of us on here there is a glitch in the WordPress app since the last update that means that although in your overall settings you might allow comments, the posts that we upload via the app don’t have the comments bar anymore.

This was happening to me and I think it’s happening to some of the blogs I’m subscribed to as I can’t comment on their posts so I hope you read on!! If it wasn’t for my blogging friend Christina letting me know that she couldn’t comment the other day I would have been none the wiser, continued and never been able to interact with you guys again 😧 (well until it was fixed anyway, I’m being a tad dramatic there 😂). I hate to think of others missing out on the community here too so I thought the best possible thing to do would be to write this post.

To check if this glitch is happening with your app take a look at your most recent posts and see if the comment bar is there, if it isn’t then here is what you can do to make the option appear again (until WordPress fix the disconnect between the app and the overall settings as they are currently working on doing so 😄):

Sign into admin (to get to the non app site version of WordPress) and go into the individual posts in your published folder that aren’t allowing comments and into their settings. Underneath “more options” you will be able to tick the box that allows comments from there! Whilst your still signed in, you might as well switch the option on in each of your draft posts too (but I am pretty sure it switches itself back off after a while so you’re better off signing in and switching it on after you’ve published a post if you want the comment form to be there) and that should do the trick!

  2. I also noticed this hun for my last few posts. I wondered why there was no interaction and its because the comment section had been disabled. Someone had brought it to my attention on Instagram as she couldn’t comment on the blog. I managed to fix it via admin but have lost out on some valuable communication I would’ve had otherwise. Also have you guys noticed how interaction, follows, likes and everything in general has been so slow since the algorithm changed 😢

    1. That’s brilliant that someone let you know! It’s very annoying that those of your posts without it enabled didn’t have that communication on it 🙁 I wonder how long it would have gone on if we weren’t told? YES, I thought that was just me and I kept trying to think what I’ve been doing differently! What’s changed with the algorithm? ❤️

      1. Oh, I am so glad I was able to sort it out or else I would’ve had no idea. I’m not that techy either so it really gets annoying with these sudden changes 😕 Well, I heard from someone that WordPress had an algorithm change where it’s become difficult for blogs to be seen on the reader. Normally it would show up as posts were published on it but not anymore. Apparently now it gets hidden amongst thousands of other blogs. Only those with a massive following can be seen on it. I’ve also noticed this too. I don’t know how true it is but I’ve def seen a decrease in the stats since the change. I think it’s def the cause for it as if you compare the older posts, the stats are quite high compared to the recent ones. It’s a shame as I think us guys work really hard and would like for our blogs to be seen by everyone. I think the same thing happened with Instagram too if I’m not mistaken 💕😢 xx

      2. That’s so annoying! I wonder why they feel the need to keep changing things like that. Hopefully whatever the reason was for it won’t be successful and it will be put back to how things were ❤️xx

  3. I’ve been having this problem too! I thought it was just me haha. A reader messaged me and mentioned that I don’t allow comments anymore and I was so confused 😂 It’s definitely annoying and hopefully it gets fixed soon!

    1. That’s good somebody let you know! It sent me into a little panic when I was told as I thought it couldn’t be fixed and no one would be able to comment anymore 😂 yeah fingers crossed! ❤️

  4. I had the same error! Ooh I thought it was just me.. I changed it for that post by signing into the admin. It’s great that you’re letting everyone know!🙂
