How to Spring clean your blog!

Hi everyone! How are you? ❤️ I wanted to share this post before spring was over (time is going by so fast 😂). This has been on the cards since last year but I never got it together in time so as you can probably imagine, I’m ready to kick it out and watch it spread it’s wings and fly away (anyone else singing the Queen song now? My job is done 😂).

Back to the point of this thing! Today I’m going to be telling you how to Spring clean your blog (how quaint! 😂) as this time of year is the perfect excuse for getting your life together and all things in it by stating it’s time for “Spring cleaning” I thought applying it to the blog would add a little bit of fun to all that seriousness so here goes everything!

New logo

I don’t know about you but as a blogger I kinda feel like I’ve changed a lot since I first started out doing this and my logo reflects a different time in my life/older posts. I still really love it though so I don’t know if I’ll be able to bring myself to change it (I’m a hoarder of past memories amongst other things 😂).

Stick to a specific image design

Make everything look aesthetically pleasing in any way you want, you could do random colours with a matching banner or all the same colours but a different font each time (how come I have no ideas for myself but loads for you? 🤔😂).

New layout/theme

Dedicate some time into sprucing things up! Make it easy to navigate and put as much of yourself into making it your own as possible!

Make sure all links work

There is nothing more annoying than reading a post, being recommended something that sounds really good and then the link to it doesn’t work 😔 This can be tough to do, especially if you blog completely through your phone like me, but even just taking the step to make sure all future posts have working links is brilliant!

Check for spelling mistakes

Read through everything and correct what is wrong (why am I even describing this one, you know it! 🙈😂).

Create more fitting folders

Okay how is best to describe this? 😂 Clean things up and put all your reviews underneath a “reviews” titled folder on your site and so on with every topic or if your a book blogger then separate by genre or by level of how much you enjoyed reading something! (That would be cool to have a folder full of 5 star rated books to go through! 🌟).

Unfollow people that bring you no joy

And don’t feel guilty about it! Every so often I’ll do this to bloggers that I feel aren’t really bringing anything into my laugh (even if it’s just a smile, that’s all I want! 😂).

Alter your opening line

I’ve tried doing this from time to time but I always end up back at old faithful (AKA “Hi everyone!” 😂). I do have fun seeing what I can come up with when I cross paths with inspiration though!

Add a signature to the end of your posts

This is something I’ve wanted to do for ages but I can’t seem to find the right design/font to put my plan into action! 😤 (The frustration is real! 😂). Whenever I see a signature at the end of a post I always think it tidies things up and is a nice full stop to a good post!

Change your profile picture

If you’ve had the same photo up for a while then have a go at a new one (who am I to talk: I had one, took a new one then decided to go back to my old one in a short amount of time 😂).

Start afresh

Now this is a massive leap so don’t do it if you don’t want to! (I will not be held responsible for any regrets 😂).
