Hi everyone! How are you? I hope you’re well β€ Last night I went to see the comedian Jimmy Carr live! It was all very last minute with us getting the tickets the evening before that and right now it doesn’t feel like it happened! π We didn’t think we would in the end as they were all sold out and when we first managed to find two on the site Donedeal the person never got back to us but kept the advert up (the seats were full in the theatre as well so they obviously got sold too! π). I found another advert early on before it was massively noticed and my dad and sister travelled out to get it so we could go in the end! π
Despite being familiar with many of his jokes because it was his “best of, ultimate gold, greatest hits tour” we still found it all funny as being there brought along a different experience all together making the comedy new again. Jimmy was as hilarious as ever and we laughed so hard our faces hurt. I really didn’t think this would happen as I’ve never been to see a comedian live and so didn’t see how it could be possible to feel comfortable laughing at stuff in a public setting compared to watching him on the TV but the atmosphere was electric not knowing if he would go too far or if he’d approach someone in the crowd….he did numerous times and it was in those moments I was relieved our seats weren’t in the closest rows because I had a prime view of it all playing out! π
The nerves I had for this were unreal as we were to meet up with people before it and then I was worried about not knowing the layout of the place but it went by so fast and later on whilst I was trying to sleep through a (worth it) flare-up I constantly reminded myself that I did it!! π I suppose the last-minute aspect of it really pushed me to not overthink it as much as I usually would (in the moment I wasn’t even thinking of the nerves I had previously about it and was just enjoying it). I came home feeling almost exactly how I felt after the shopping trip I wrote about in my last post where it was the first time I’d been out in ages; like I was living in the moment and had stepped out of my comfort zone (even if it means that I want to retreat back into it for a while again to regenerate ππ) and I’m really looking forward to doing something like it again!
Thank you for reading! π Have you ever seen a comedian live? What was it like? Let me know and have a lovely day! β€
