My perfect picnic!

Hi everyone! How are you? ❤ Happy mother’s day to all of the mother figures out there! 💐 My sister completely forgot that she’s classed as our smallest dog Toby’s mother! 🐕 He’ll probably give her a toy to throw for him…that’s like a gift for 5 seconds isn’t it? 🤔😂 Today’s post is not going to be about mother’s day as I wouldn’t be able to put how much I love my mum into words 💕 and I don’t feel like having a crying session (soppy but is exactly what would happen from writing alone! 😂) so all that you guys need to know before I get into the post is that my ma is being taken care of (GANGSTER. OR .WHAT? 😎😂).

Anywho! The snow we’ve been having recently made me feel at odds in my room since it’s been done up with Spring decor and now that it’s melted and raining instead (which I quite like as it sounds comforting hitting down upon the roof….this is my Totoro face during rainfall: 😵) I wanted to write a post more suited to the weather we should be having which is trying to break through 🌞…I’m going to share with you what my perfect picnic would entail! (It’s been a while since I’ve done a random post so hold on 😂).

The amount of times I wrote about wanting to go on a picnic last year were unreal! I’ve truly lost count. Whilst that dream still lives on I thought it would be a good idea to try keep it alive and lay the plans out ready for when it does take place (I understand that it won’t be completely the same as this though!) so here is what I would bring to my perfect picnic which would preferably take place at a beach! 🏖

A wicker basket + essentials!

I’ve wanted a proper wicker picnic basket since August 2016! 😯😂 I remember the date because it was during a holiday back over to the UK in Brighton and we were rushing through a shopping centre after a fun day on the beach and we had to get back to the car quickly as the centre was closing. We rushed by a selection of wicker baskets placed by the elevators and I stared at them longingly as we ran around them and away from them 😦😂

Since then I’ve seen similar ones in various TKmaxx stores that will probably be put back out on show in the coming months, showcasing crockery, cutlery and intricate blankets. I would definitely take one of these on my perfect picnic! I would also include beach stuff (sunscreen!), some containers holding the food/drinks. I would pack an extra thick blanket that could support all of these luxuries and not make them topple over into the sand (everything ends up tasting like sand whilst on the beach anyway so we should at least try to avoid any actual sand getting onto things! 😛😂).

Food! 🍎

For food I would bring stuff that is suitable for all dietary requirements and restrictions so that all guests would be happy (I will spare you the details on what I can and cannot have at the moment! 😂). Meat would be packed separately from fruit/veg and quorn products (fake meat): Specifically the quorn cocktail sausages as I prefer them to real meat ones. Seeing as we’d be by the beach surely there would be a chippy so we’d get some to takeaway as a part of the spread 😋 A salad and a fruit salad because we’re mad like that! (Fruit fruit not those sweets called fruit salad! Even though they are yummy).

Straying from the idea of sandwiches that always end up tasting of the sand, they would be replaced by crackers! (Ritz anybody? 😋). A selection of toppings would accompany the crackers like cheeses (lactose for me! I had a bad scare the other day after accidentally eating proper cheese 😓), meat (assorted hams) and grapes! 🍇

A flask of piping hot, hot chocolate (double the hot! ✌😂) would have to make an appearance no matter what the weather! I won’t stop there with the treats, there would be individual chocolate mousses too! (They could even be different flavours like mint, orange or honeycomb 😍).

Pastimes!

You know those mini travel versions of popular games you can get? Well there’s a few of those shoved in the bottom of the wicker basket 😂 Monopoly, cluedo and uno! There would be a sand castle competition so maybe I should bring a notepad and pen so that designs can be sketched out! 😂

And you of course! You are my quests so what would you bring to the picnic? I haven’t really thought about a main meal for it as we’d most likely be stuffed on snacks by the time that’s brought out 😋🤔
