Hi everyone! How are you today? I hope you’re well! ❤ The other evening my sister and I went to see The Greatest Showman at the cinema and it was absolutely amazing! It was my sister’s choice and aside from knowing it was a musical that involved a circus I really had no idea what the storyline would entail but I was intrigued going by these facts alone! 😂 This post is by no means a proper review of the movie as I don’t think I could possibly put into words just have great it was and so this means there are hopefully no spoilers (I thought I should add that in the title just in case you’re planning on seeing it). I’m going to try give a short outline of what the film was about so as just to assist in acknowledging how much of an impact it had on me.
Without majorly giving anything away, the true-ish story follows PT Barnum who in wanting to provide a better life for his family buys a museum and creates a circus containing unique people as acts. It becomes the talk of the town and is soon famous yet has it’s critics who would rather the performers didn’t exist at all. Caught up in fame, Barnum begins to loose sight of the reason he made the circus in the first place and everything starts to fall out of place.
The story is told beautifully with the help of poignant inspiring songs that I have no doubt will stay with me forever. I loved the bond between the circus acts that allowed them to feel accepted and like they were a part of a family and it was an emotional rollercoaster to say the very least. I honestly can’t hum “a million dreams” to myself without forcing down a surge of tears 🙈😂 but they’re not all sad tears, some are happy and so that just shows how unbelievably touching and magical the movie was.
I now understand why so many people have gone back to see it again and I think it’s on the cards for us too as my sister and I both agreed when the credits rolled down the screen that our mum would love it too. It’s a feel good movie that motivates you to want to be yourself! It had a bit of everything in it and I’m glad that I went to see it as although it’s definitely something that will be bought later and treasured on DVD, it was that bit more special and hypnotic on the big screen (I genuinely lost trace of where I was, all that mattered to me was the characters and whether or not everything turned out alright in the end for them 😂).
It also wasn’t one of those musicals where they break out in song every five seconds which I know can be off-putting for some (it actually leaves you wanting them to do so though once you catch on that every song is brilliant!) and all of the actors were incredibly talented. If you haven’t seen The Greatest Showman yet you can probably guess that I’m going to recommend that you do because you won’t regret it!
Thank you for reading! 😉 Have you seen The Greatest Showman? Did you enjoy it? Let me know and have a lovely day! ❤
I’m booked to see it as a birthday treat. Hugh Jackman, Ben and Jerry’s, it’s a win-win combination!

The music is so uplifting! I can’t wait to go again (next time I want to keep my ticket for the memory as I left it last time and was so annoyed with myself 😂). Thank you so much! 😄❤
