Update: A Fishy Disaster πŸ™ˆπŸŸ

Hi everyone! How are you today? I hope you’re well! On my last post I mentioned that there was an accident involving the fish tank I got for my birthday and that the fish (Coraline, Bagginses, Lemonhope and Terence πŸ™„πŸ˜‚) are perfectly safe but the pet shop are not from our wrath! πŸ˜‚ I’ll tell you as much as I know so far! When my sister and I got picked up from our weekend cottage trip away (which was lovely and I will tell you about very soon as I took too many pictures to handle πŸ˜‚) mum and dad told us that on the day we left (Friday) after I had messaged reminding them to feed the fish in the evening they discovered a very nearly empty tank with water gushing out πŸ™ˆ They immediately set to saving the fish and put them in a large bowl but by then the damage had been done and the unit the fish had been on was and is now wrecked. Upon checking they found a hairline crack on the tank that had widened and also realized that up close it had been shoddily made with glue down the sides. The next day they took the tank back to the pet shop who remembered my sister and I as we had spent a good while choosing the fish on my birthday πŸ˜‚ and replaced the tank whilst saying the manager would be in touch with us about the damage it had caused as they had gone out of their way to recommend the tank after my sister had got me a bowl and we swapped it on my birthday (it’s very confusing πŸ˜‚ but we were told a tank would  be safer for the fish to receive oxygen and had no reason to not believe them as it’s a well known petshop that we always go to).

When we all got home after being told about this happening we had to sort through everything that had been ruined which included family photos, letters, DVDs and electronics and it was incredibly saddening to see so many captured memories being thrown away. At this point we rang the pet shop again and told them of all we had lost to keep them informed and we are waiting to hear back from them soon as well as going to pick up a bowl tomorrow just to be on the safe side.

The experience has made the fish look like they’re stuck to each other with glue like they know they were close to dying and are now friends which I think is the one good thing to come out of this as Coraline was an a little bit of a bully πŸ˜‚ I’m just happy that they are safe and still here as that would have been bad to loose them so soon as I feel so much responsibility for their little lives πŸ˜‚.

Thank you for reading! πŸ˜‰πŸ’— If anything else happens with the fish you will be the first to know! Have a lovely day!

  1. I’m glad they’re all okay! I’m thinking of buying my dad a seawater aquarium for christmas (he has a freshwater one but is obsessed with sea fish) but picking the right tank and conditions for them to live in is so difficult! Like you said, I don’t want to responsible for little fishies dying ;-; x

  2. Ohh gosh that’s awful! I’m sorry you lost things in the process, but at least the fish are okay! That’s also good the place is willing to work with you guys on what you lost. What a terrible thing!
