Hi everyone! How are you today? On my last post I mentioned how my back/ribs have been hurting recently (especially when I breath), my doctor told me that I have Pleurisy (it’s an inflammation of the tissue lining your lungs and/or chest) so I have been given anti-inflammatory’s and painkillers which will hopefully help it although it has moved to my shoulder (they are making me sick at the moment but if they help! π). Apparently my sister had it when she was little too. Also! My doctor said that up at the hospital they think they might be on to something in terms of a diagnosis for my illness! He said that they are looking into something that might link my symptoms so fingers crossed! (I reckon it was all of your thoughtful comments on the things I post about being undiagnosed! Either way you have kept me going! π). I’m not getting too excited about hearing back from the hospital though as I’ve been here before thinking they’ve found something to end it all but it’s a nice surprise all the same! π
The other day my family and I drove down to the beach on a whim whilst out! It’s the beach that the film “Saving Private Ryan” was filmed on (One of the few famous landmarks in my area π). We didn’t fully go on the sand (that’s where the 1/2 goal in the post title comes from π) as we didn’t want to get any in the car but I took some pics for you to see from where we stood! It was empty and so serene! π
I didn’t notice the sky wasn’t blue until I looked at these pictures π. We were saying isn’t it strange how when you have something on your doorstep you hardly ever go? We live near a good lot of beaches but as much as we want to visit them we hardly do π when we used to live in London we would dream of something like this but now we have it…? We sound bloody ungrateful! π
We spent our time in an arcade right next to the beach that was equally barren (might just be my new favourite place π) I think this was the first time I have ever been to an arcade so that goes under trying new things in My Summer Bucket List post! π It was so much fun!
Here’s the arcade from the beach (it was right next to the parking lot and a surf shack!).
I paid β¬1 for a Nicktoons race (which gave me 3 races!π) I won the first 2 and on the last one the Rugrats surrounded me and shoved me in a ditch π¬π π. I didn’t go on many of the machines that would just take my money and leave me with nothing (like my sister did ππ) instead I preferred the games where you felt like one try was worthwhile, like racing or dodgems…the dodgems were AMAZING! (Not sure what they are actually called π). I kept reversing before I realized how to go forward and from then on I attacked my sister ππ. This picture is of the karts before we ransacked them:
And this is after (they were β¬2 for 5 minutes and then they just zoned out π)
The other games were allot of fun and it was great to have the choice of them (there was only two other people in there).
These tipping point style machine’s drove us mad! π΅ It’s like the coins are glued down! π Plus you could see that a few coins people had put in never even made it into the machine, they just wedged themselves in the slot! I feel so sorry for those people π they lost a whole twenty cents! π
Before we left we got ice creams (nothing beats an ice cream at the beach! ππ) We also got kfc but I was unsure if I should post a pic as that sounds sickening with ice cream….wasn’t at the time though was it? π No! It was delicious! π Picture doesn’t do it justice I swear! (I reckon the kfc over here in Ireland doesn’t do it justice if I’m totally honest with you π).
We plan on going back to the arcade and hopefully the beach again next week! Maybe then the beach won’t be half a goal! π I will get there! I was that close to the ocean! βπ So hopefully my pain goes down (either way I will go now I know about that arcade! π).
Thank you for reading! ππ What have you been up to recently? Have a lovely day!

Haha, I remember thinking when I was a child that I wished we lived near a beach because so many books had characters that lived near beaches! Turns out we actually do live close to one, but hardly ever go because the water is so cold! Even now I rarely go but I should make a trip soon, itβs literally maybe a 15 minutes drive. Fingers crossed for that diagnosis!
