A hectic but wholesome holiday ✨️🎄

Hi everyone! I hope you’re well and have been able to enjoy the holiday season 💚. How was your Christmas? (If you celebrate it). Mine was filled with crafting and pickling, wordsearches and laughter. I’m very grateful for the moments with my family that have occurred this Xmas and as I’m typing this, they are still taking place 💫.

In the leadup to Christmas I was making gifts such as a perfume for my mum (I can do a separate post if you’d like to know how that went!) and I also made two gifts for my whole family: a photo of us together covered in a shimmery sheen that I pinned into the middle of a frame on rustic ribbon held in place using a staple gun surrounded by a leafy twine encircling a wooden frame (I will share a picture here without showing the family photo itself):

I had a vision and it turned out the exact same as I wanted it to!

The other gift I made was a stack of diamond art coasters featuring designs of towers and lighthouses. Crafting was on my Winter bucket list which you can hear about over on The Cosy Corner (a place where I share audios) so I’m very happy I got to do that.

On Christmas eve my sister hosted a charcuterie dinner for us and even made decorations!

It was super fun and really got us into the festive spirit. She even went to the trouble of getting me dairy free cheese as real cheese gives me migraines and through this I discovered how addictive vegan Philadelphia cream cheese is on crackers with a bit of prosciutto 🤌 ti’s the stuff of dreams! On Christmas morning I woke up from a nightmare 😮‍💨 I hardly ever dream when I sleep so it must have been the fake cheese but I wouldn’t change the evening we had together with all that delicious food for the world 💝.

I’ve been in the kitchen a lot this holiday season as well, I made pickled onions (which are a family favourite, especially nice when in apple cider vinegar!) and a radish kimchi (this stinks but is so tasty! 🤣 For Christmas I recieved a ramen noodle cookbook so on boxing day I set to on making a broth out of the Xmas turkey bones and came away with a hearty noodle dish! I kinda made it my own as I wanted it on the same day so I shortened the recipe and switched some things around but thats what made it fun!

My mum said I’ve got some ramen bowls with spoons, chopsticks and forks coming that didn’t make it in time for Christmas so I’m super excited to see what they look like! She offered to show me but I wanted to keep it a surprise until they arrive 🥰. I won’t go into all of the things I got for Christmas but my sister made me a bookish hamper that I adore and I got a really cool bluetooth typewriter & inkless printer from my parents 🫶🏽. Writers dream! (Which was nice after the nightmare 🤣). I appreciate all that I received and loved seeing the reactions of my family to their gifts. We just had a lovely time together and of course, our pets made the day very special playing with their presents! (Nina and Bella got a tunnel and bella went walking through it only for Nina to notice and hop on top to squash her! 🤦🏾😂 they’re such an odd pair together!

Something I’m really excited about right now is what I’m doing in secret for my mum (The Cosy Corner have an idea what it is if you want to know!). She is aware a gift didn’t make it on time but I have some big news for her and can’t wait to see how she takes it ✨️.

Now I have family coming to stay right at the beginning of 2026 💖. I can’t wait to see them and also meet up with friends 😄. Looking back on this post I don’t actually know if it was hectic (I did drop the bowl of sauce when I was going to add it in to the broth for my ramel and a third of it went everywhere 🙄 but lets not talk about that), it got a bit crazy trying to finish the diamond art and having the dogs act like..well, wild animals! But it’s just been a lovely holiday season with loads of nice thoughts, cosy moments and a whole lotta love.

I’d love to know how you are and what Christmas has looked like for you! And a question has been flitting through my mind: what time do you have Christmas dinner at? 🤔 we had ours around 6pm I think but I know loads have it more as like a lunch. Let me know your answer in the comments below! 😋 I wish you a merry Christmas and a happy new year! If your 2025 wasn’t the best then I hope the start of 2026 makes up for it and if it was the total opposite then repeats please! 🤞🤣 Stay safe, take care and buh-bye ✨️💗.
