Autumnal Arts & Crafts 🕯

Hi everyone! How are you? 💗 *Caught you casually strolling by and dragged you in* thats the kind of manic vibes these posts give off ☺️🤣. In the week that the clocks went back, I jumped at the chance of doing some cosy crafts! One of which I don’t think I’ll ever do again and another that I did for the very first time 😲. I can’t wait to tell you about these experiences! Starting with a diamond painting that is taking forever to complete! 🤣

I showed you guys my first ever diamond painting in this post (any Hello Kitty fans in the house?) and in Autumn I started an even bigger project! It is Fall themed and has so much detail. The amount of times I accidentally tip the tray of diamonds over is unreal, maybe I’m subconsciously going for the world record? 🤔😂  I really enjoyed diamond painting but my neck starts aching from looking down at it no matter if I’m trying to angle it a certain way so I dont get to do it nearly as much as I want to. I’m excited to complete it tho as I have some other plans in the works (if you’re subscribed to The Cosy Corner then you’ll soon know what I’m talking about 🤭).

Recently I made a felt pumpkin and it was torture I tell you! I did not enjoy it at all. It gave 6 segments and the instructions didn’t fully make sense telling me to sew them together but they’re shaped in a way that makes it near impossible to do so (thats my story and I’m sticking to it! 🤣). As a result, my pumpkin turned out wonky but it’s still kinda cute. The set has enough to make 3 different coloured pumpkins and I’m gonna set it aside now until next year as after my upcoming birthday (tomorrow! 🥳) it will no longer feel like autumn anymore so I don’t see the point and I just really didn’t enjoying making it 🎃. At least with crafts no matter the outcome there’s always something to show for your troubles! 🙌😂

The last autumnal themed craft I made was a pumpkin candle and this was super fun! (Washing up after was tricky but hot water did the trick and I made sure no wax went down the sink as that’d clog the pipes!). I had to thread a needle with the wick and it wouldnt properly fit but I still managed to poke it through the mould and have it come out the middle of an icecream stick like the picture I’ve added shows. It then wanted me to use a double broiler but we don’t have one of those so I just used a pot on the stove (one that belonged to my nana! Luckily it didnt get damaged, I should really consider all possible outcomes 😂) and I melted wax before adding in pigment. It didn’t cross my mind until it was setting for 4 hours and in the mould that I hadn’t added essential oil so it doesnt smell of anything but aside from that its so cute!! 🎃 After taking these pics I gifted the candle to my sister so it is no longer in my possession but I’m very happy with how it turned out. I’ve still got wax and different pigments left and I’ve also got a non-seasonal candle kit as well so I’m for sure going to be making more candles! This was my first ever time making a candle and I feel like it might just be the beginning of something beautiful ☺️🤣.

Autumn ends in Ireland on the 30th of November but like I hinted at above, after my birthday it basically feels like Christmas can start in our house so I’m pleased with the autumnal bits and pieces I got done and am still currently working on like the diamond art painting 🖼. I shared an audio of me talking about my autumn bucket list over on The Cosy Corner and I’ll soon be reviewing what I did and did not get done 🤫 plot twist, it’s not looking good! 🫣😅 that will be uploaded as an audio too!
