What I just read, what I’m reading now and what’s next! ✨️📚

Hello bookworms! Yep I’m just assuming you’re a bookworm based on the fact that you clicked on this post 🙈. I could be wrong but it feels right so maybe just take it on the chin and take a book in hand while you’re at it, get used to it! 🤣 I’m here today to bring you some bookish content as it’s been a hot minute since I shared any and I can’t wait to delve into a good discussion! *rubs hands together mischievously 👏* I’m going to start off by talking about the book that I just read and boy was it captivating! ✨️…

Yep I wanna talk about All The Words I Kept Inside by P.J. Gudka! Incase you’re unaware, Pooja is a fellow blogger that I admire over at Lifesfinewhine who’s posts get you thinking as they’re informative + real and since she announced her first book I’ve had my eye on it, waiting for when it would be possible for me to get it and I finally did! I knew I wanted a physical copy to treasure and I’m so happy I got one because as soon as it arrived I started reading it! This is a collection of poetry and a few of my faves were A Moment Of Silence For Who You Once Were, The Ramblings Of A Broken Soul, Surrounded By The Monsters and last but by no means least: I Miss You (If you wanna read these poems yourself then you’re going to have to get the book 😜). The experiences you get an insight into in each poem are super profound and captivating. A Moment of silence please for Pooja’s poem ‘The Right Words’ it came at me like a ton of bricks 🤣.

As I read I was oftentimes at a loss for words because I could relate to some of the pieces and felt heard. I’m so happy to have this book as a part of my collection and I’d highly recommend it! Ps. It also introduced me to the quote “Ever has it been known that love knows not its own depth until the hour of separation,” by the Lebanese-American poet Kahlil Gibran. This is so true and just hit me right in the chest.

Next is the book I’m currently reading and I’d be lying if I said there wasn’t more than one (I’m trying to be good and limit myself tho so I’m mostly focusing on two, one physical and one on my kindle so let’s talk about them both!). On my kindle I’m reading One Night With The Duke by Jodi Ellen Malpas and I’m at 47% with it. It sounds overly saucy but it’s not really, it’s full of drama too and I’m really enjoying it. I love the olden day vibes, it truly makes you feel like you’re a fly on the wall and although I’ve been a bit confused by some moments as it feels like the characters can act out of sorts it doesn’t stop me from wanting to know what happens next and thats a win in my books!

The physical book I’m reading is Love You to Death by Gina Blaxill! This was on my wishlist for ages until I came across it at the library and honestly thought I’d landed on a goldmine finding it without having to order it in! 🤣 This book is full of mystery and is even better than I thought it would be as I can never be sure if I’ll like thrillers but this one has me on edge wanting to know what will happen next! I can’t really say much without giving the game away so I won’t say anything at all about the plot 🤐🤣. All I know is that I’m loving it and I like how its not easy to guess what comes next as I’ve been pretty good at that recently so I’m a happy bunny ☺️.

Moving on we have what I plan to read next and without wanting to look too far ahead as I like picking a book randomly when the time comes I thought I would chat about a book I’ve already started but set aside for the two books above: Violet Made of Thorns by Gina Chen to be more exact! I’ve only read like 3 chapters but I can’t wait to get back into it after I finish Love You to Death! VMOT is set in a fantasy world and it’s been a good while since I’ve committed to a novel like that. The writing style is right up my alley and even though I’ve only read a little bit of it to know I want to go back to it, I know it’s a goodun’. It was just a random find so I feel like the cat that’s got the cream with this one! 🤣

And there we have it! What I’ve read, what I’m reading and what I’m gonna read next! 🤗📚 If you follow me on Instagram then you may have seen me at a different stage according to my story where I shared that I had just finished Infamous by Lex Croucher but we be moving fast around these parts! 🤣 (It’s another book that I really enjoyed and got lost in!). As you can tell by this post, I’m no longer in a reading rut. I may have said that already in another post but I get so confused with what I have and haven’t said so I’ll let you know again 😂. It feels so good to be reading again and to have some fantastic reads on the burner (not literally, I would never 😱❤️‍🔥).

Let me know in the comments below what your list is: what book have you just finished, what are you reading now and what’s the next contender! 📚 I’m excited to know!

I’ve gotta go now but I’ll see you around the blogosphere! I hope you have a wonderful week and enjoy the rest of the summertime before we enter the beauty that is autumn 😊🍂 . Take care, stay safe and buh-bye! ✨️💗

  3. I recently finished The Songbird and the Heart of Stone by Carissa Broadbent, I’m currently reading Blood of Hercules by Jasmine Mas and next I would like to finally get back to my read of Lover Revealed by J.R. Ward.

      1. I haven’t gotten that far into Blood of Hercules yet and so far I’m bored. I know there are gods and I’m pretty sure there’s going to be trials where the initiates will fight for their life and I’m assuming a romance comes in at some point but I could totally be wrong.
