Monthly Reset: February Edition 🎀

Hi everyone! I hope you’re well 💗. I decided to do a monthly reset for the first time ever because I want to see if it’s beneficial so I’m very excited to do one! 😊 A monthly reset is something you can do at either the end or the beginning of a month to start out on a clean slate. I have seen youtubers doing them but it was the website Herlifestylepursuit.com that told me what it properly entails so I’d recommend checking them out if you’re interested (as well as reading this post of course 🤣).

I heard that if you don’t reflect on the previous month you stand less of a chance of achieving goals you set for yourself as you don’t know where you went wrong or right. It can be as simple as thinking of a single goal that you didn’t achieve and questioning why that was exactly (I already have some goals popping up in my mind so I can tell this is going to be very helpful! 🤣).

The worst thing that happened to me in January was my dog, Toby, passing away which has been really hard as he was such a big character in our household but ignoring grieving, my January did have some nice moments and I made loads of lovely memories ✨️. I’ll admit, I didn’t achieve many of my goals for the month but that’s not to say it was a terrible month for me because it wasn’t. I’ve been going over what went right for me and what didn’t and without going into anything personal, I would say I coasted with a lot of my goals and continously thought I would make them happen but didn’t put in the extra effort to get there. I’m not trying to be tough on myself because my health wasn’t the best with flareups of my chronic pain so I understand why this happened and I can now look into what I could possibly do to step around that and make things more approachable for me in February.

One thing I’m really proud of from January is that I took care of myself and I’m not one to normally do that so that’s something. I also learned lessons, one of them being that life is short. I hadn’t thought I would lose my much loved dog as I expected there to be more years but I’m grateful for what we had and I’m relieved with how I handled some tough moments and didn’t fall down the wayside. I was able to see things realistically when things came at me one by one and that was a huge sign of habitual growth for me.

Evaluating habits was a step in the monthly reset so I guess that leads us onto speaking more about that. One of my biggest goals for 2025 is to sleep earlier, I have no problem falling asleep, it’s what I do before I sleep such as reading and going on my phone that builds up time and the phone side of things isn’t a great habit to have. I didn’t make much progress with changing this last month but I hope to do so in February. That is a goal I will surely carry over and I will try to implement some changes which I didn’t do before.

Setting new monthly goals like that is a monthly reset thing and alongside a better sleep routine I have set myself some more goals that I wish to achieve. You will hear more about them in my upcoming posts but one of them revolves around my studies and I wrote a bit about the decision making process in this post. One of the goals I’ve been working on lately is tidying up my space and I made huge headway in this the other day! 🥳 I am a self confessed hoarder but something that’s linked to this is a habit I’m trying to alter and that is having no-spend weeks/months with particular items like skincare (which I need no more of) and books. I haven’t brought myself a book in ages as I’m trying to read library books and then what I own first. I had actually forgotten about how good I did with this so it’s very nice to be realising it right now! 😇📚🤣

Cleaning and decluttering is a step mentioned by Herlifestylepursuit.com so I’m happy to have taken a huge step in the right direction through sorting out my clothes! Next up was to clear and declutter my digital space so I have been unsubscribing from receiving emails that are of no use to me and I’ve also been unfollowing accounts on social media that don’t interest me anymore.

Moving on, I broke down my goals into actionable segments in my planner within the to do lists so that I will hopefully stand a better chance with them in February. This felt very productive as it’s so easy to just see the bigger picture but beneath that there’s so much that goes into making things happen! ✨️ One of the next steps is to plan out your meals and for the most part recently my sister has been cooking meals and she makes two portions so I get in on that action 🤣 but you know me, I love to cook, so I get in the kitchen a few times a week and know what I want to make in February so we’re good all round!

It says on the website to pick out new books if you’re serious about your self improvement journey and I’m hella serious but I’m in a reading slump guys!! 😭 It was bound to happen after how much I read last year but it feels horrid. I want to read but I just can’t bring myself to do it. Fingers crossed this turns around!! 😅📚

The very last step (I know, I know, I didn’t go through them all on here but off-blog-me has so don’t worry!) says to implement and track habits and in my Head Plan journal that I showed you in this post it has habit pages and boxes that you can tick on the monthly calendar so I’m really going to make use of them this month as I didn’t take advantage of that feature in January.

So there we have it, my February monthly reset! What are you doing to see in the new month? I hope you guys didn’t mind the long post, I got lost in typing away quite happily 🤣. Let me know in the comments below: what is something you’re really looking forward to in February? I’m going to a concert so I’m really excited for that (I’ll let you know who it was and how it went after!).

I’ve gotta go but I’ll see you again next week! I hope you have a lovely day/night 🥰 Take care, stay safe and buh-bye ✨️💗

  1. Even though the start of the year hasn’t been so perfect, I’m glad you were able to find little glimmers of happiness around! ✨💖 I hope you’re able to achieve all the goals you’ve set out of yourself… I really wish I loved to cook, would make my life easier! 😆 Happy February!

  2. Sleeping on time is one of my biggest struggles too, especially because I tend to wake in the midnight and would often pick up my phone, then wake up tired. It’s the worst! I’m trying to work on that and hopefully we’ll both succeed 😄🩷
