Did I achieve my goal of reading 100 books in 2024? πŸ“š + Not setting a 2025 goal!

Hi everyone! πŸ‘‹ How are you? πŸ’— I just want to start out today’s post by saying a huge thank you for all of your support on my last post. Naturally I still feel low but your kind words brightened up a dark time so I appreciate it, you are the sweetest 🫢. I’ve been trying to distract myself and a bookish blog post is the perfect way to do that and not just any bookish post either, one where I share with you whether or not I achieved my goal of reading 100 books last year…..

Can I get a drumroll please!? πŸ₯

I can recall myself telling you about this goal more than a handful of times, hoping to make it happen and I was really wrapped up in this goal of reading where I was having so much fun and I didn’t know what I’d do when the year was over 🀣. Now, I can’t fully remember what that felt like but it was nice at the time so this goal really kept me focused, especially in the last few months of the year. I wanna find something that makes me feel like that again!! πŸ™ŒπŸ˜‚

Anyway! What I was trying to say in the beginning there was that I kept you updated on the process and…..

I’m glad to say that I reached my goal and read exactly 100 books!! πŸ₯³ I was on a roll with reading last year and in the end I was hoping for 101 but it wasn’t to be, either way I achieved the main goal and I’m very happy! You guys know how much I love to read and setting myself this challenge just made it more fun if thats even possible and another really great thing is that it got me using my kindle unlimited subscription which I always let roll over and keep paying but wasn’t really using so I’m glad I got use out of that!!

It makes me want to read more kindle books but I’ll admit since 2025 started I’ve kinda been in a bit of a rut. Maybe it’s since losing Toby, I don’t know. That’s probably the best possible reason or maybe there just isn’t one….oh wait, it could be because I pushed it so far with books last year! πŸ€”πŸ€£ “Far” in my standards anyway as I didn’t read nearly as much the year before that when I was in a very long rut. I’m hoping I don’t enter into another one of those again and that this rut is simply a momentary thing!

Despite this, there are some books I’m really excited about! Carving Shadows into Gold by Brigid kemmerer and My Life with the Walter Boys by Ali Novak (I was obsessed with the Netflix series and have owned the book for a while now but am yet to read it!) to name but a few, so let’s just get this rut out of the way and let the real fun begin! πŸ˜†

I received a reading journal for Christmas that I wished for and it’s so cool, I’m really looking forward to tracking my reads properly this year (by stating more than just a name on a list, I will write mini reviews on every book I read or at least I hope to!). I recently started journaling (on the 1st) and I’m really enjoying it so I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the reading journal is just as good.

I don’t know if I’ll set myself another reading goal this year, I might just go with the flow and swiftly pass through this rut, that’s all I’m hoping for at the moment πŸ™πŸ€£ but if I change my mind you’ll be the first to know!

I’ve gotta go now but I’d love to hear about what you’re reading and whether or not you’d recommend it? Did you set yourself any reading goals in 2024? I used to think that challenges took the fun out of reading but I think it all depends on what headspace you’re in! We’re all different ✨️. I’ll see you again next week but until then, stay safe, take care and buh-bye! πŸ’–
