Q&A for my 8th Blogiversary!! 🫶🥳

Hello and welcome to my lil corner of the internet on this very special day! 😆 It’s official, I have now been blogging for eight years which is CRAZY 🤯. Where has the time gone? I really feel like the pandemic sped things up in life (what about you?)🤔. To celebrate this very big day I’m doing a Q&A and some of you lovely people kindly sent through some questions that I cannot wait to answer (Seriously, they’re good’uns!).

But first, let me just say a massive THANK YOU for being a part of this journey where I’ve felt like I could write freely and show my true self. Whether you’re here today or you joined last year, you are appreciated! 🤗 Let’s jump into the Q&A before I get emotional, its not a pretty sight 🤣. Starting with….

How do you think your blogging has changed over the years?

I think it’s gotten a bit harder to post regularly as the years have gone by, life gets in the way but I always come back or at least touch wood I do! 🤞🤣 I truly believe I used to depend on my blog a lot more than I do now, I still have my health problems but back in 2016 when I started this blog, my health was in a really bad place and I was undiagnosed. It got worse before it got better and I had my blog throughout all the highs and lows. It was a place I could fully escape into and somewhere I could talk to people when I wasn’t getting out of the house because I just physically couldn’t. This space has really shaped me as a person and for that I will forever be grateful 💗.

What song are you obsessed with right now?

A song that I haven’t sought out so it’s probably a bad answer because I may not have even heard it all is Sailor Song by Gigi Perez! Whenever I hear it on the radio it makes me think of people going about their lives and doing things. It brings to mind all of my favourite YouTubers who as people inspire me to do something fun each day. It’s not even the lyrics that do it, it just for some reason takes me somewhere by the vibe it gives off. I can imagine these people living their life’s whilst the song plays and it just makes me want to go live my own. It probably sounds really cringe but that’s just the way this particular cookie crumbles 🤣. A better answer if we’re talking about obsession tho would probably be the songs on Conan Gray’s Found Heaven album, I’m after getting my family into him. It’s so good and such car music! Don’t worry, not all my answers will be this long! 😂

Least favourite book you’ve read this year

Probably Happy Place by Emily Henry. I really couldn’t get into it and then I decided to swap reads with another blogger so I ended up reading Book Lovers which they couldn’t get into and they took on Happy Place. Thankfully this led to me finding one of my favourite reads of the year in Book Lovers so yay for that!! It’s proved to me that I shouldn’t give up on an author just because I didn’t enjoy one of their books.

What theme are you using and what font?

My theme is Rebalance and I don’t know what font it is but I hope knowing that it’s Rebalance is enough!

What is your favourite thing about blogging?

My favourite thing about blogging is the people I get to chat to about the random 💩 that comes out of my mind 🤣. I also love getting lost writing a post, it feels magical!! ✨️

If you had to pick 1 favourite book that you’ve read between when you started your blog and now, which one would it be?

I think I have to go with A Court of Thorns And Roses! And I’m not trying to be a pick me girl here 🤣. I just googled to check when it was published and it says 2015 and I would have probably read it in 2016 so I guess i can say I was very close to being an OG and theres not a lot of stuff I can say that about 😂. I remember being enthralled by it! You never forget a good book, do you? 📚

An unpopular opinion you have

This is really tricky, gosh my mind must really like following the crowd because I can’t seem to think of one! 🤣 Maybe that a melted chocolate bar is way better than eating it normally. I haven’t done it in ages but I used to heat treats up in the microwave 😅. I don’t know if that’s unpopular enough tho 😂

What plan are you using?

I am truly wringing out all I can get out of the free WordPress plan 🙈🤣. It was one of my 2024 goals to upgrade as I thought I would run out of space this year but she’s still going! I will definitely be upgrading to premium around the beginning of next year. It feels so daunting, I feel like I’m gonna lose all of my posts or something or I’ll have to go through them all and change the links used within them. One thing I know that I really want to do before I make the jump is take note of all my drafts because I feel like they will get deleted in the process. I WILL DO IT…just keep telling yourself that Lucy 😂.

Favourite book you’ve read this year

Oh my god there were so many! Probably Forging Silver Into Stars by Brigid Kemmerer!! 🙌 I remember I got it out from the library at the beginning of the year and I didn’t give it a proper chance because it was so big and then I got it out a couple of months down the line and got absolutely lost in it! 😍 it’s so damn good and I can’t wait for book two next year!!

What’s your favourite thing to blog about?

Hmm that’s a tricky one!! I love talking about the recipes I’ve made because I love to cook and look back on that. One thing that’s annoying tho is that there’s a dish I made and shared on here but I can’t for the life of me remember what cookbook I got the recipe from 😤. All I can recall is that it was from a library book and it tasted delicious! 😋 It was butter tofu curry and I fried up the tofu into these little puffs of goodness and then the sauce was just something else I tell you! 🤤

What’s one thing you wish you could have done differently with your blog?

I wish I’d upgraded to premium before I’d built up so many posts as it feels like there will be so much to sort through now and put into new sections under a menu 🤣. Gosh I’m really complaining in this post!

What is your favourite Christmas/Holidays themed movie?

Ooh I have two answers because I’m just like that, my sister will get me for this because its her answer but I have to go with Elf for the laughs it brings and then Home Alone 2 for that scene when he’s going over the bridge and they play Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) by Darlene Love…yes I just googled the name of the song, I am not ashamed 🤣.

A fictional character you will forever be loyal to

Emma from The Promised Neverland (I’m on book 7 so I don’t know what happens from here on out, no spoilers please if you value your life 🤣. If you haven’t read The Promised Neverland, run, don’t walk. It’s a whirlwind I’ll tell you that! It’s a series of graphic novels that read backwards (is that Japanese style?) and it focuses on a bunch of kids that live with a woman they call “mum” in a place called Grace Field House but all is not what it seems! Emma is one of the main characters and she’s headstrong and very reliable.

What’s one piece of advice you would have liked to of had before starting your blog?

I’m not sure 🤔. Maybe to not focus on stats so much because there was a time when they were really high but now they’re at a lull. I don’t know if thats something past me could have done anything about but I wish I’d utilised that more perhaps and upgraded my blog to premium. I should just damn well do it!!

What inspired you to start blogging?

I saw someone writing about their life, it just came up on my phone and I sat and read it and thought ‘I want to do that!’ so motivated by my mum, I did shortly after!! And what a journey we’ve had 💫.
