Food I’ve made recently! #3 😬

Hi everyone! It’s time for another post and I thought it’d be fun to share more of the food I’ve made recently as I’ve been cooking like the clappers 🤣. The kitchen has been my safe haven lately, I love popping on a BTS playlist and cooking up something close to a meal, there’s nothing quite like it! If you’re interested in checking out the first two additions to this series then you can find them here for the first post and here for the second. And without further ado, here is some more food I made recently!

Spicy Roasted Daikon Radish French Fries

These were super spicy but very tasty! I enjoyed trying daikon radish for the first time too!

Biryani with coriander chutney

This biryani was made with jackfruit (Can you tell I’ve been using a plant-based cookbook? 🤣) and even tho I added bay leaves, cinnamon sticks, cardamom and peppercorns the jackfruit still lacked flavour which is a shame. You could taste a subtle hint of herbs but it just wasn’t doing it for me which is a shame as it was a tricky recipe to follow.
We have a blender where you tug a rope to shred the ingredients and it was my first time properly using it for a recipe. The coriander chutney tasted very fresh and delicious!

Louisiana Gumbo

This took a lot to make but sadly it wasn’t a flavour-packed dish. My parents enjoyed it tho so it didn’t go to waste (I’m glad as I went out of my way to get Okra for it! 🙈🤣).

Mini mushroom pies

These pies kinda exploded and I forgot to season with salt and pepper but they were still really yummy!! My family loved them too and they didn’t last very long in our house 😂. I’m so happy I made them as its usually a recipe I’d skip as being too difficult but I wanted to at least try it so now I know what it’s like! I got to try my hand at making bechemel sauce too which went alright.

Vietnamese Chicken

I’ve been meaning to make this for so long and I finally did it!! I was wondering why the chicken wasn’t crisping up and the pan kept filling with water (for reasons still unknown to me 🤣) but then my mum told me that the chicken had no skin which answered why it wasn’t crisping up. The chicken was still super flavourful and I got to try a little bit before it was devoured by my family tho 🤣.

And there we have it!! Let me know if you would like any of the recipes for the dishes above, I would gladly post them here on my blog! Question of the day is this: What was the last dish you cooked from scratch?? Let me know in the comments below!

I hope you go on to have a wonderful weekend!! I’ll see you again next week but until then, stay safe, take care and buh-bye! ✨️💕xx
