Hiya everyone, I hope you’re well! π Okay so I’ve just this instance finished reading Crumbs by Danie Stirling and while it’s fresh on my mind I wanted to write a review on it! π so let’s get going!!

Summary
In a very special town, thereβs an even more unusual bakery with a selection of baked treats hand-crafted to help your dreams come true. For Ray, a quiet young woman with special powers of her own, the order is always the same: a hot tea with a delicious side of romance.
When Ray meets Laurie, the kind barista who aspires to be a professional musician, she gets a real taste of love for the first time. But even with a spark of magic, romance isnβt so simple. Both Ray and Laurie are chasing their own dreams and even when Ray starts to see the future, she canβt predict her fate with Laurie.
Based on the beloved webcomic from WEBTOON, this sweet coming-of-age story of friendship and first love comes to life in graphic novel format with gorgeous illustrations and exclusive content.

Where do I even begin? I was blown away by how much I enjoyed Crumbs, I mean seriously come on, a bakery that sells magical treats was all it took for me π€£π. It was a big book so I didn’t expect to get through it as fast as I did but I truly outdid myself! (I’m saying that like Fix it Felix as he just came to mind π if you know, you know!). I think it’s so cool how Crumbs started out as a Webtoon and then became a book! Can’t say I was there since the beginning but I can say I enjoyed the end result! As a side note I’m slightly peeved that I had to delete Webtoon from my phone for space and then my phone goes and says that’s not enough like my heart didn’t just get broken for nothing πͺπ€£ but yeah, we move!
On a deeper level, I don’t think I’ve noticed growth in a character as much before Crumbs came along if you know what I mean? Ray really grew from strength to strength and was a slightly different version of herself come the end of the book. I think the biggest thing I loved was how there was magic interwoven into the lives of the characters, it made for a whimsical read and put a twist on just your everyday romance.
I really liked Crumbs but at the same time there was something missing, I can’t quite put my finger on it tho. It’s like there could have been more of a plot but at the same time it was a nice easygoing read if you get what I mean. It was easy to go along with but nothing came as a shock or anything. Part of the story did feel rushed like how Ray and Laurie were almost instantly calling each other boyfriend and girlfriend which made me shooketh but either way I still give it a high up there 3 stars! Admittedly it was the kind of book where I had to look at the summary afterwards to realise there had been a plot, like it reminded me what had actually gone on and what the story was but thats okay. I can see myself re-reading it again but I don’t know if I’d make it all the way to the end the next time as it was just so damn long!
And there we have it! (How many times do I end on that note? π€£). Have you read Crumbs before? Do you want to? Let me know in the comments below and go about your day like the star you are! βοΈ I’ll see you again next Friday but until then, stay safe, take care and buh-bye! β¨οΈπ
