The last withered leaf
Sun in place of fading gold
We witness the hues โจ
Hi everyone! ๐ For this week’s post I felt like writing a haiku about change using the great outdoors as a sort of mask for finding meaning. And nope, the emoji at the end doesn’t add another syllable….I hope not anyway! ๐ฌ๐คฃ Sometimes I steer clear of writing poetry incase the end result doesn’t actually turn out to be a poem but with this, I like it! All focus goes into figuring out what words to use within the first 5 syllables, the next 7 and finally the last 5 of a haiku and when it comes together it’s weird to think it wasn’t there before.
The weather is all over the place lately isn’t it? With days so hot it doesn’t feel like drinking water makes any difference (sidenote: it still does! ๐) that quickly stumble into a storm you didn’t believe would happen so soon ๐คฏ. I basically just described yesterday and today and whilst I’m writing it is pouring down with rain yet it’s still a bit warm ๐ง๏ธ. I’m enjoying the sound of the rain. Normally I’d think into how it affects me health-wise but right now, even though things change fast, I’m trying to cope and get through it.
This haiku makes me think about how signs of old times can linger yet go well with how things look now. Like the past working well with the present and not needing to overpower it to leave a mark ๐. I thought of the title before I wrote the haiku and then afterwards I couldn’t conjure up another so…here’s your homework ๐:
What would you name this haiku? ๐คโจ
And it goes without saying, keep those answers kind! ๐ I’m excited to hear your answers ๐ฌ๐ซ. Sooooo there we have it! I hope you like this haiku and that it maybe had you stopping to think for a bit…..not that you don’t normally think ๐๐ , oh god I’m just gonna stop now ๐คฃ. Thank you for checking out this post and for also taking time out of your day to give it a read ๐. I hope you go on to have a wonderful weekend, take care, stay safe and buh-bye! โจ๐Xx
