3 Simple Ways To Drink More Water! πŸŒŠ

Greetings earthlings! πŸ–– I for one have never been called that before so I decided to extend the invitation to you guys too (you’re welcome!….wait a minute, that saying implies I’m an alien πŸ€” whoops, not the look I was going for πŸ‘½ fitting for Friday the 13th tho πŸ˜‚). Hello and welcome! How are you doing? πŸ’— With it being so warm lately despite the weather taking a swift turn towards rainy days this post was the easiest decision to make! πŸ™ŒπŸ₯΅ It’s soooo important to stay hydrated (and not only when the days are hot & sunny) but it’s also very easy to lose track of doing so despite knowing the benefits associated with that. I’ve come up with 3 simple ways to drink more water and I hope you find them helpful if you too tend to forget every now and then! πŸ’« Let’s go…..

1. Know what works for you!

In the past I’d always keep a big bottle by my side so as to know I was getting in 2 litres every day but recently I’ve taken to using a smaller flask of about 750mls because it’s faster to drink out of and much easier to carry around. I personally think bottles are better than glasses because if you end up with some leftover at any point in the day with a glass it’s very easy to waste and pour it away, with a bottle it’s all going to one place and I don’t mean the sink! πŸ˜‚

Lids play a part in how much you drink as well, if it’s a normal bottle with a Screw cap I drink faster and I know that’s not majorly important because I could very well end up with hiccups and instant regret but being somebody who forgets to pick up the bottle in the first place, when I actually do I want to get a lot more in so that I can keep going and not feel so guilty about it πŸ˜‚. Flip-top’s are another great type of lid which are for the most part only an option on smaller bottles and I thought I was cheering them on here but now I prefer screw caps (some of you be like πŸ₯±πŸ€£). Clearly, knowing what works best for me is an ongoing journey! πŸ˜… What about you?

2. Flavour it!

There’s an infinity of squashes out there looking to make water into something more fun and they’re great if you don’t even like the taste of water in the first place! (I never used to understand that but then I tried a different type that must not have gone through all the cleaning stages and it was STINKY! 🀒). Some water can even make your mouth dry for some reason (I’m no scientist so expect to hear “for some reason” a lot 🀣) and adding a different flavour would be a game changer in that instance. You could even make an iced smoothie or a drink like my post on how to put together a tropical teaser mocktail which is a non-alcoholic drink, go ahead and substitute the ginger ale for still water (with that ice and mint it’d be so refreshing! πŸƒπŸ˜).

3. Always have it with you and be open to prompts that remind you!

I often find myself needing reminders to drink because time just goes by so damn fast 😡 I really can’t afford not to what with my chronic pain and the medicine I take! An app is a great idea for some and can kindly alert you when to let some H2O into your life but my phone is always on silent (..a controversial topic in my house πŸ˜‚) so those apps are wasted on me. I’ll take advantage of the fact that having my bottle of water on show is a continuous reminder that I’m to drink from it (if it were hidden I’d surely forget!) and I also have a habit of drinking whenever I see either of my dog’s bowls need refilling 🀣 I’m like, if you need some then I might as well go for it too. I’ll pour some for them and go grab my bottle (had to emphasize the point there that I don’t drink from their bowls, I’m not a dog! πŸ˜‚), it’s something as random as that that just clicks and gets me to do it. Long shot but is there anything like this that causes you to say “I might as well have some water” as well?

A healthy habit to have is drinking a certain amount alongside whatever you eat and I also drink a lot with any tablets that I need to take. In trying to feel better each day I don’t want to be the one who in turn makes the pain worse so water is essential in washing out what I put in as well as helping it to work! Some days that I’m aware I’ll be constantly looking in my planner I will scribble a note for myself in there saying to drink, not just because I think I’ll need it in amongst daily tasks but due to the fact that I know I’ll be relying on looking in that place and surely see the reminder! ⚑

As an afterthought to all that we have spoken about today, I mentioned at the very beginning how it’s important to drink loads no matter what the season. On a hot day you’re more likely to realize the need for water and become parched but whatever the weather it should never get to the point of you feeling a negative impact such as dehydration to remind you that you need to drink 🌊. In other words, just because it’s colder in Winter doesn’t mean you should have less water peeps, your body still needs it! With that being said, these tips are helpful all year round…πŸ˜‡πŸ€£.

Thanks for reading guys! πŸ˜„ Now it’s your turn to get involved by sharing what makes you drink more water πŸ’¦ I don’t know about you but I’m forever looking for new ways so let us all know in the comments below! πŸ‘‡ I hope you enjoyed this post and found it helpful in some way, I had a lot of fun writing it! ✨ I’ll see you again soon and hope that you have a wonderful time up until the moment I reappear and put a spanner in the works 😜 just joking, I want to contribute to that wonderful time, it sounds amazing πŸ˜§πŸ˜‚. Farewell! πŸ₯°πŸ’—

  1. This was great! I always need to drink more water. It’s funny, I tend to drink more water if I’m drinking out of a glass because I find unscrewing a cap takes too much time and I forget… which makes me sound weird/lazy but when I have a glass I find it easier to grab haha! πŸ˜…

    1. Thank you Meghan! 😁 That’s understandable, it can be so easy to be in the middle of unscrewing a cap and then you get called over to do something and when you’re back where you were the thought has just gone off on one. Glasses can be helpful with keeping note of how much water you’ve had to drink too! 🌊 I’m not good with numbers when it comes to my 750ml bottle so I’ll just keep going prob way over 2litres some days 🀣

      1. You’re welcome! Right?! You come back and just forget to drink water! Oh I’m not good with numbers either; the one glass/mug I use every day to drink water from is roughly 2 cups so it’s just an estimation πŸ˜… I do have a bottle that is 750 mL too, but I stopped using it now that I’m home πŸ˜…
