The Outstanding Blogger Award! ๐Ÿฌ๐ŸŽ‰

Hiiiiii everyone! ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ’ž I just typed out gobbledygook in an effort to say that THE SUN CAME OUT YESTERDAY ๐Ÿคฃ๐ŸŒž oh it was marvelous. You know how much I’ve missed that glowing orb (and if you didn’t then you do now ๐Ÿ˜Œ it’s okay that’s basically all you’ve missed, I do tend to go on about it ๐Ÿ˜‚). I wasn’t feeling too good in that moment painwise but my mood instantly picked up at the sight of the golden shadow being cast into our front room.

It really does make a difference with all that is going on โœจ. The sun came in fairly low because my sis and I had the blind down so we could watch somebody playing a creepy game on Twitch but afterwards (…yeah we made the sun wait) that blind went up and so did the spirits of everyone and seemingly everything in the house as we all took in the light โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ˜”โ˜€๏ธ.

It’s meant to be like it today as well but I’m not too sure because even with yesterday the weather forecast still said 90% rain and it came down in bucket-loads in and around that moment of brightness. I won’t cause karma and feed into the notion that anything will go to plan in regard to the climate right now tho, I’ll keep open minded….or at least try too ๐ŸŒง๏ธ๐Ÿคทโ˜€๏ธ.

With that, alongside a present mindset which for once has very kindly fit in with the physical aspect as it should ๐Ÿ˜‚โœจ, today I’m very excited to be sharing an awards post!! My first in ages now that I think about it, I am so grateful for all that I am tagged in and am going to be posting a lot more of these in the coming weeks like I used to, I promise! ๐Ÿ˜†โšก

I think these types of posts double up as mini introduction shots which is lovely because I’ve noticed a lot of new faces around here ๐Ÿ‘‹ and I’d like to somewhat do random community infused boosts so that’s what this will be today! Not only am I going to be sharing a bit about myself as a part of this award but hopefully so will you! (No pressure tho! ๐Ÿ˜Œ You may observe ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ˜‚).

With that being said I’d like to say a massive THANK YOU to Flawed Silence for nominating and giving me the opportunity to do this post at all and grace your screens today! ๐Ÿ’ž๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’ž (I’d still be here otherwise but probably not as chirpy, it does mean a lot ๐Ÿ˜‚).

I’ve been an avid reader of Flawed Silence for a long time now because each piece of poetry is thought-provoking in the most captivating way โœจ. It’s all at a level like no other and Kiya instantly comes across as a genuine soul who has a way with making others connect with words that don’t leave you. You’d be silly not to go and give her stuff a read if you haven’t already ๐Ÿ’ซ (I hate people who say “you haven’t lived IF…” cause then I question my existence but what I just said was kinda like that, I’ve no shame in using my own torment against you because I know it works ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜‚).

Now imma follow the rules:

1. Provide the link to the creators original award post.

2. Answer the questions provided.

3. Create 7 unique questions.

4. Nominate 10 bloggers. Ensure that they are aware of their nomination. Neither the awards creator nor the blogger that nominated you can be nominated.

And I’ll answer the questions:

1. What’s a quote you live by?

There are too many good ones out there for me to settle! I look new ones up every day and share what I connect most with over on Instagram but to simply answer the question I think I’ll go with a short but infinity bound one: breathe, believe and achieve! It’s everywhere but that’s actually brilliant because then I’m constantly reminded of it ๐Ÿ˜‚. Working towards something and moving forward if at times at the pace of a snail is important because it keeps me sane and is a nice focus to hold onto within everyday joys and moments of happiness.

2. What has lockdown made you appreciate?

Obviously a lot but what’s been eating at me the most is how easy it was to go places before! Like at times there would be a level of annoyance hanging in the air that we’d have to be in certain places that ate into where we wanted to be but now you just look back and think, did that really annoy you if it meant you could still do it sooner or later??..well it did but will it AGAIN? ๐Ÿ˜ฏ…Probably, I’m a creature of habit but anyway! ๐Ÿ˜‚

3. A TV show you would recommend others binge watch?

Hell on Wheels with Gordon Ramsey!! It’s a revamped version of Kitchen Nightmares that is very much the same except he’s at first in disguise so no one asked for his help and they don’t have a chance to hide the bad stuff in order to impress him. It’s awesome ๐Ÿ˜‚.

4. Something you’re proud of achieving in January 21?

What comes to mind is the headspace I was in because it felt so strong that even in the moment I recognized it. Usually it would take looking back to see something like that for me but it was just so evident. February be trying to wash the memory away with all this rain ๐ŸŒง๏ธ๐Ÿ˜‚. I don’t know if that counts as something to be proud of but it’s what I’ll go with!

5. Your favourite meal?

The saltfish dish my dad makes!!! It’s life and is always the answer to this question. I used to like it more with pumpkin because that could only be had in Autumn (we like rarities ๐Ÿ˜‚) but I’ve come to realize it’s actually way nicer with butternut squash ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ˜. I’d honestly marry a meal! It can also be made with potatoes which I’d call the last resort when it comes to this (oddly cruel there because I do love a good potato) but made with squash and eaten with buttered crackers is like home to me! (Anything with butter really because I used to have it on digestives too ๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿ˜‚). I’m really trying to find a good supplier of saltfish for Ireland, I can’t be waiting for family shipments let alone with a pandemic going on ๐Ÿ˜ฐ.

6. What makes an outstanding Blogger in your eyes?

Someone who stays true to themselves and what they want to create. Mistakes are made but nothing is stronger than the need to do what they’re meant to do. They know when to step back but never give up (oh I’m sorry, did I just read your resume? ๐Ÿ˜‚โœจ).

7. Last thing that made you laugh?

My smallest dog Toby running into my room when he was meant to go get in his own bed! He was all giddy at having seemingly gotten away and tried to give cute eyes to be lifted up onto the duvet. I always tell him to jump up by himself now and he does in the morning knowing I’m not in the land of the living to do so myself but in this moment he took his chance with begging, didn’t get what he wanted and attempted a load of times to hop up. He knows he can do it but it’s cute to see him try fake it ๐Ÿ˜‚. He let out the loudest sigh when he eventually had to leave!

Time for the peeps I nominate:

1. Adventures with the Michigan Mama

2. Olivia Lucie Blake

3. Bournemouth Girl

4. Dinosaurs, Donkeys and MS

5. Sophie Mags

6. Ella isn’t Reading

7. Christina and Camera

8. Sereneluna

9. The Cozy Potato

10. And YOU!! โœจ

My questions for you:

โ€ข Is there anything you wish you’d known/been aware of at the time of creating your blog?

โ€ข What is the post you’re most proud of and why?

โ€ข Where do you see yourself this time next year?

โ€ข Movies at home or in the Cinema? ๐Ÿฟ

โ€ข Has lockdown/the pandemic affected the way you write/blog?

โ€ข Do you have a morning/evening routine?

โ€ข What do you feel makes you an outstanding blogger? โœจ

Thanks for sticking around and reading this post! ๐Ÿ˜‰ I absolutely loved these questions!! It was a great award to get me back into the swing of things + I feel all calm and stuff so that’s good….now to face the world ๐Ÿ˜‚. Now it’s your turn!! That part where I nominated you up above?…you missed it? This is awkward ๐Ÿ˜ถ.

Go back, see it and know that you can take part too! Whether it be answering some of/all the questions in the comments or by sharing a post of your own (tag me so I can find it!), I’d love to know a bit about you so do it! (There is a middle ground where you don’t have to do it but my excitement at the prospect of conversation wins out so just imagine it there visibly ๐Ÿ˜‚). Right, I’m off! I’ll see you soon for another chat, take care, stay safe and have a beautiful day! ๐ŸŒ ๐Ÿ’•

  1. Thank you for nominating me! ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ’•Since I donโ€™t have time to write a blog post, I wanted to post my answers here. This is gonna be a long reply, so grab a hot beverage and get comfy. Here we go:
    1. Whatโ€™s a quote you live by?
โ€œIf you do easy things, then your life will become harder, but if you do hard things, then your life will become easy. So invest in hard work.โ€ -Aman Kumar
    2. What has lockdown made you appreciate?
That being a hermit pre-pandemic is now an acceptable way to live, and that nobody is judging me for staying home on weekends ๐Ÿ™‚
    3. A TV show you would recommend others binge watch?
I donโ€™t watch a lot of TV but if I had to choose something, it would be the Big Bang Theory…..or Chopped (Food Network).
    4. Something youโ€™re proud of achieving in January 21?
I started 2 jobs straight out of university (with my second degree) even though the jobs didnโ€™t officially start until February 2021.
    5. Your favourite meal?
Brisket and cornbread from Big Tโ€™s BBQ ๐Ÿ˜‹
    6. What makes an outstanding Blogger in your eyes?
Someone who is authentic and doesnโ€™t just re-post things because they couldnโ€™t come up with their own ideas. Someone who can write creatively and isnโ€™t in it just to make a few dollars from blogging. Finally, someone who doesnโ€™t constantly complain that their life sucks.
    7. Last thing that made you laugh?
Finding my cat on top of the cupboards or fridge because heโ€™s trying to hide from my tyrant 4-year old. It was recently when he started hanging out in the most obscure places. And hearing my daughter call his cat collar a โ€œblue medal.โ€ The stuff she says is pretty funny too.

    1. You’re welcome! I love your answers ๐Ÿ˜†, that quote speaks volumes ๐Ÿ‘โœจ. I miss Food Network, used to have it but then bad weather made the signal go and it never reconnected or could be found here again (the good stuff always leaves ๐Ÿ˜‚). That’s fantastic about your jobs! Best of luck with them โœจ. Haha that made me laugh too! I’ll bet the more your cat hides the more precious that “blue medal” looks to your daughter so she won’t give up! ๐Ÿ˜‚ I appreciate you taking the time to answer those, hope you have a great day! ๐Ÿ’•

      1. Thatโ€™s too bad that you donโ€™t get Food Network anymore. I used to watch that channel all the time when I was in high school. I would sit on the floor at the coffee table and have it playing in the background whenever I was studying for tests, working on homework etc. I donโ€™t remember sitting on a chair do homework ๐Ÿ“š
My work schedule is weird. Iโ€™m doing orientation right now so Iโ€™ve been really busy but I donโ€™t have anything scheduled 2 weeks from now. I may not have many shifts in March.
The stuff my daughter says is โ€œwrongโ€ and yet it makes sense, which makes it so funny. Poor cat though. Last night she gave him another bath ๐Ÿ˜ฎ
