Hi guys! π Today’s post is dedicated to the planet Earth πβοΈπ I’m going to be talking about something that is very important: how to get rid of something without throwing it away! What with the weather being crazily hot lately those that chose to ignore it before now have no choice but to acknowledge global warming and how detrimental our behavior can be towards it. With unwanted (and sometimes unused items going to landfill everyday I want to make as many changes as I possibly can in order to help out and this post is going to be one of them (A small step in the right direction is a step all the same!). Throwing things away should always be a last resort and I’m going to tell you what you should do before doing that!
Give to a charity shop
This way it can go towards a good cause close to your heart and have a life again with someone who will appreciate it (win win situation if I ever heard one!). I love charity shops as you never know what you’re going to find (everyone I know always comes away with bargains, I’d love to know what charity shop they’re going to! All the good stuffs gone by the time I arrive π).
Sell at a bootsale or local selling site
Even a small amount of money is a profit when it comes to something you were going to throw away anyway! (This is the kind of mindset to hold on to when everything is gone and you’ve only got a tenner to show for it π).
Give to someone as a gift/present
In the past whenever I say I don’t want/need something anymore there has always been someone close by who wants to put it to good use so what better way is there than to pass it off as a gift when their birthday comes around? π
Put food scraps in compost…
…then use it as soon for plants! Or even give out of date/leftover foods such as cabbage/carrots to pets or leave stale bread out for birds π If the food is still in good condition but you know you won’t eat it then bring it to a food bank! (Every little helps so even if it’s not a lot it will be appreciated).
Craft into something else
There’s nothing that a lick of paint can’t revive (furniture-wise anyway π). If clothing is in too bad a state to have another owner then trade it for fabric! Use old magazines for a collage! Give your dog your old slippers! (Not a craft I guess but they’ll still love it π€·π). Almost everything has an alternative use waiting to be discovered. Just be 100% sure that the stuff belongs to you before you alter it! (Will save you a lot of hassle ππ). Happy crafting if this is the route you choose! βοΈ.
Thank you so much for reading! π Can you think of any other ways to get rid of something without throwing it away? Share your thoughts in the comments and have a lovely day! β€οΈ (Hey that rhymed! π I’ll go now π).
Great post and ideas! I really need to have a clear out soon, I keep putting it off!

Thank you! Haha, hope you get to do it soon π Maybe put together a list of the benefits of getting rid of the stuff and you’ll find so many that you’ll have convinced yourself to do so? I feel like lists solve almost everything ππβ€οΈ

Very beautiful and important post! π Climate change is real and every small thing we can do will improve the environment. I never throw anything away but I really want to sort out my clothes soon and give it away which is much better. Presents I got which I didn’t like I give away xxx

Yes! This was such a good post idea because we really need to focus on reducing waste in modern society!
I love using charity shops because itβs great to know that someone else will get to love the items that I no longer need.
Great post as always βΊοΈ
