Hi everyone! How are you? ❤️ This post is gonna be full of me trying to describe that incredible emotion you get when you find a blog post that moves you and makes you feel like you’ve learnt a valuable lesson or even just smile as it sinks in that you’re lucky to cross paths with writing that is so impactful….this isn’t going to be difficult at all *heavily implied sarcasm* 😂
A couple of weeks ago I shared a post entitled what puts me off reading a blog post so I thought it only right that I tell you what makes me read a blog post aswell! (It balances things out a bit 😂). This post is a lot shorter and more to the point than that one but I hope it gets my point across and that it allows you to learn a little bit more about me! Here are the things that make me read a blog post:
It’s real + relatable
Personality shines through and being fake is dull (which also shines through in a whole other way so it’s very easy to tell the difference between the two). When I read something that is real + relatable I feel a huge happiness boost for some reason, like I’m just after coming away from chatting with a friend and I feel like I can do anything (within reason like I’m not gonna go rob a bank or something….🤔🏃🏦….💰🤗….😏💭 Or am I? 😂).
It’s intriguing/interesting
This is a massive deal breaker for me, if a post doesn’t drag me in from the offset of course sometimes I will try and give it a go + continue reading but most of the time I’m not in the mood for that and just want something that catches + pulls me in straight away. I like posts where I feel like I am leaving having learnt something, whatever that may be and that is a goal I strive to achieve with my writing too.
I am friends with the blogger 💫
If the blogger is a friend then I will click on their post by hook or by crook and feel every good emotion that I write of in this post. I LOVE it when friends post to their blogs because I am guaranteed a brilliant read hence the reason I was drawn to them in the first place. I suppose this means everyone else has to work extra hard to get my attention (hold on I’ll just get down from the high horse that just magically appeared 😂) as I’ll click on other people’s posts only if the title/image interests me as opposed to just doing it anyway with a blogger who is a friend.
It takes me away from the moment I’m in ✨
When reading I am forever searching for that form of escapism that takes me away from where I currently am. I love finding that feeling in a blog post and losing myself in something truly magical. Don’t get me wrong I can still enjoy a post that doesn’t draw my mind in fully but you know you’ve found something special when it does! I think it’s a powerful moment that shouldn’t be taken for granted when you get lost in something and it probably never is when you’re on the lookout for that type of thing (it’s just ten times harder to come by that’s all 😂 you have to be caught unawares when you’re not thinking about finding it and there it’ll be!).
It’s easy going
If a post is difficult to follow and doesn’t flow then I am likely to give up on it. I don’t know if that sounds a bit harsh 🙈 but it’s true so I’mma tell you! 😂 I lose interest fairly quickly when something is written messily. I like structure and for writing to just fit and not fall out of place if you know what I mean? Not even in a picky way, any writing that shows you care has got my back (and I’m continuously on a mission to track more of it down) but if something is just written with no real meaning or feeling I’m out.
Thank you for reading! 😊 What makes you read a blog post? Have a lovely day! ❤️
Lovely blog post! 💕 I also love to read anything real and honest. I don’t like fake or plagarasim. I’m happy to be friends with you. I love you 💖
