Hi everyone! The idea for this post came to me when, you’ve guessed it: I couldn’t sleep π These last few weeks I don’t think I’ve gotten a good night’s rest at all and not only is it super annoying but it’s also strange because I’ve been up and about keeping busy on flare-up free days so shouldn’t my body want to regenerate? (Haha I sound like I’m Doctor Who π).
In order to fight this I have thought up some things to do when you can’t sleep that will hopefully lead both me and you (if you’re facing the same predicament) in the direction of the perfect snooze π΄ Here are some things you can do if you can’t sleep:
β’ Do breathing exercises
Breath in through your nose and out through your mouth repeatedly. Take your time and don’t rush it!

β’ Lay flat on your back with your arms by your side.
For some reason laying like this tells my mind that I’m ready to sleep. If I stay like this for a while I will start to feel tired and then I can turn over onto my side and fall asleep how I usually would.
β’ Count sheep
I honestly just say “one sheep, two sheep, three sheep” as if I try to picture them it won’t just be sheep, my mind will wander and there will be a carnival or something going on in the background with flame throwers and I’ll worry about the fluffy flammable little sheep and then I’ve got a nightmare on my hands! π
β’ Focus on parts of your body and relax them
I was once told to do this another time I was going through a patch of sleepless nights and to say it worked is an understatement, I was GONE π Think of a part of you like your shoulders and really focus on them and tell/make them relax, when they do move onto another part of your body and so on so forth.
β’ Think of your favourite movie and see if you can watch it in your head
This is something I remember my sister telling me when we were younger. I also sometimes watch talent shows in my head and make up the acts as I go.

β’ Give yourself a Massage
This will gently lull you to sleep. It’s like how putting on a hand lotion is said to relax you because you’re focusing on something else.
β’ write!
This can be seen as waking your mind up but it can only do good to let out what could be keeping you awake.
β’ Have a banana or/and a melatonin supplement
I’ve started having both a banana and a melatonin strawberry gummie before I go to bed and I’m gone from the world until the morning π (Check to see if you can actually have melatonin before you take it though just in case and don’t go over the recommended amount!).
Thank you for reading! π I hope this post helps you too if you need it! Have you got anymore tips? PLEASE share them in the comments I’m desperate! π Have a lovely day β€οΈ

These are some great tips! I definitely have noticed lying on my back first relaxes my body and then I roll over and fall straight asleep, donβt know why π but these are great xx

Great Tips! My number one sleep tip is similar to counting sheep, but I go through A-Z lists as it keeps my mind busy with something that isnβt focussing on falling asleep and itβs helped me fall asleep in all sorts of situations!
