as I was

before things changed

and took a lifelong pause.

Remember the me

that was so sure

that life could be shaped

the me that was pure.

Remember me

back when we

did not think

that in a blink

things would be so different

I did not know what this meant.

Remember me

as I do you

young and carefree

not once asking “who are you?”

Remember me

I did not have time, you see..

    I like the tone, and a lot of people identify with it. When things begin to get complex in a relationship, and you want to be sure that he still wants you, and you want him to remember how it all was, before the storm came through, to get you through.

    1. Thank you so much! I love how you percieved it! When I was writing it I had Alzheimer’s in mind but also now reading it back I see it from your point of view and love that it can be taken in a way that can relate to more situations. Thank you for reading! 😄💗
